WOYWW 699 Et Voilà!

Et voilà!Here’s my Tizzy cardigan! Since someone just asked me online, I can tell you that it comprises 11.5 Tizzy squares. I feel like I’ve been doing it forever!

I’m pleased with how it swirls across the back and I’m so glad I added in the white.

The sleeves add to the swirly effect;

I think I might reset the pockets, though.

The length was driven by my design choice of using 1 full Tizzy square plus a triangular half square for each front. This was a mistake which meant the front was too narrow at the shoulder and I had to do a lot of infill, plus it made the front so long I had to lengthen the back.
Does it seem daft to say I’m missing the pattern already? I’m really tempted to do another, shorter one, with a wide square and a smaller one at the front. I 2
You know when something’s right, yes? Even small things can be so satisfying. When I put this petrol blue border around the edge it felt so much more finished.

Bella and Gracie haven’t been keen on the final parts of my Tizzy work as I keep them away when I’m using a needle. Much compensatory cuddling needed😻😻

On Sunday, we had the first Lyminge Farmers and Artisan market.
The weather didn’t play nice but it was a good start. I was sad the wool stall didn’t turn up but there were:
Kimchi and pumpkins (Very tasty kimchi)
Various card and jewellery stalls, a blacksmith,
a ‘Less travelled lamb and pork’ butcher, a bit of fruit and veg and Gatehouse Farm who do good pies and baked goods. We were too late for their sourdough or scones but bought  a tasty steak and kidney pie.
I hope they all find it worthwhile to come again!
And finally…

I’m off to join in visiting desks now c/o Julia at the Stamping Ground

WOYWW 698 Buttons and borders

Hi all, I’m back for our Wednesday blog hop care of Miss Julia at the Stamping Ground. Amazing to think we’ll be at 700 weeks in a fortnight!
This week’s activity has a ‘B’ theme:
- Buttons
- Borders
- Beans

I bought these buttons online but am not sure about them - are they too dark green? They’re supposed to be blue and green.
I go round and round on my border and collar, with Gracie and Bella supervising. I think they like my warm cardigan.

We shop at farmer’s markets where we can. There’s a greengrocer at Folkestone West station on a Saturday morning that has very keen prices. Even after giving a bagful to our next door neighbour, I had this many to top and tail. The whole box of beans cost £1.50..

There’s a farmers market in Hythe every fortnight with a French cheese stall (great St. Marcellin, Bleu des Causses and fromage blanc) and this Sunday we’ll also have the first monthly Farmers and Artisan market in our village. I do like a good market!
And finally…

WOYWW 697 Sea glass, collars and borders.

For a change this week I’m starting with some sea-glass earrings I’ve adapted. I do like the matte effect of sea glass. Most earrings now get adapted to fit onto my sleepers. These look like little olives to me.

Thanks for all your input last week. Im adding a shawl collar to my Tizzy cardi so I go round and round. It spends most of its time now in a big heap on my lap as I make the collar and borders.

I was late commenting last week as we had a big log delivery.

This is the work in progress. Brian did most of it but I felt it in my legs the next day, too.
Bella and Gracie do like a cuddle:

We’re wondering if this house in our village has been sold to Mexicans, given its topiary

And finally…

WOYWW 696 Modelling Tizzy in progress

Hi all, I hope you enjoyed the Crop on Saturday! I’m looking forward to the photos.

I’m getting there with my Tizzy cardigan. It isn’t finished but I tried it on as I’m trying to decide whether it needs a shawl collar.
What do you think?

I’ve still to complete the back, the border and sew on pockets and buttons. I do like the crazy swirl of colours the Tizzy pattern makes. I’m very glad I made it in 4 ply as it’s plenty warm enough.

We had our covid boosters on Sunday; we both have sore arms and my asthma’s bad but I think that’s more to go with the season.
It alarms Bella and Gracie but they’re fine apart from that and they send purrs to you all.

And finally….
