I’ve still to finish the mountain but it’s getting there. We had a day or two of the Mistral wind blowing really strongly and I wanted to illustrate that.
There really are olive trees there that have grown in spirals from the strength of the wind. I guess with the windy day and Mont Ventoux above, it’s more the tough farmer’s life of Pagnol’s Jean de Florette than holiday Provence.
I might do a sketch of Serge Gainsbourg soon, too, as I’ve a friend in France who likes him, hence the photo on my desk. I’m also still working on more Emotional support critters with Bella’s help. She sends you all purrs. My art club had a lunch last week where we discussed having an exhibition. They’ve secured space at a local deli in October. We can’t display paintings we did in class but I’ll work on some new ones. They saw my holiday snaps and said I should include some of my crochet chickens. 😻🐓
And finally…

I think your chickens are works of art so putting them at the show is a no brainer! Pets for Bella! Try seeing what she looks like as a "human" with Chat GPT - maybe she and Poppy's human would be fast friends.... Happy (cancelled knitting day) WOYWW!

Oh that last funny made me hoot! Nice watercolours, you can feel the wind in them for sure - aren’t the twisted trees amazing, I’ve never heard of spiral trunks because of the wind before. Hope your emotional support chooks will reach a wider audience, they deserve to, they’re such fun!

I love how your painting is going, you can almost see the wind blowing the tree. Great funnies as ever. Chickens at the show sound great to me . Helen #1
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! There were some olive trees in the garden centre we took my MIL to last week. Magnificent specimens. Couldn’t get a clear photo though. I remember when we were in France having bread and cheese, still one of my favourite things, possibly with softer bread though 🤣. Hugs Angela #10
ReplyDeleteYou're so right I don't know where the time goes. Love the painted landscape, I love Olive trees. I guess all that cheese and bread weekens the effect of all that wine! Happy woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteYour painting is lovely and I can just imagine that Mistral swirling around the olive trees. x x Jo 🌈
