WOYWW 856 Art, crochet and the Canterbury festival.

Hi all, firstly, sending big hugs to our Neet, still in hospital - we’re hoping you get better soon. Here’s my desk for this week’s bloghop care of Sarah’s craft shed and yes, I’m painting again!

I don’t think I’ve the right colour of our Helen’s fungi but I’m pleased to be able to hold a brush again.
I’ve had to use the Frisk maskaway rubber (the square one on the left) as I started this with masking liquid 3 weeks ago and it’s harder to get off, the longer you leave it. I’ve used salt and cling film in the background as well as printing with corrugated cardboard. I’m not very happy with the highlights- I haven’t succeeded in making it look shiny and I missed some of the white specks.

My crochet is growing under Bella’s supervision! She sends you all purrs.
I’m up to 8 strips out of an approximate 12 so far.
We’re enjoying the Canterbury festival, seeing Caravan (70s rock band) last Sunday and the Tallis singers in the cathedral next Saturday.
 And finally,
Happy Halloween to you all.

I’ll be round to visit after art class.
Happy WOYWW
Hugs

  4. Funnily enough, that is exactly the rubber I was searching for a day ago. I so rarely use it that I have no idea where it is - along with a growing list of items, my Apple ear buds being one of them, or should that be two of them! I have never had much success with masking fluid. Great Halloween funnies. Happy WOYWW. Angela #10

  6. I've used masking fluid in the past and just found it again recently but don't think it's in very good condition. I remember it being quite difficult to remove but normally used my fingers to rub it loose, not the best idea. I love your fungi it looks reaaly good. Purrs back to Bella, Oh and before I go the bat funny was brilliant. Happy woyww with hugs, Angela x9x

  9. Julia Dunnit : Golly Lynne, you are a harsh critic! The print looks amazing, I love how many bits and pieces you've used to create the forest floor, it's a fascinating process. I've had one of those erasers for glue and sticky fingerprints and GKW on cards etc, and never known what it was called. They are like the crepe soles on my old school shoes so I used to just look for my crepe rubber!! Or should that be crape for rubber not food..., I am not able to look at either word and say which is right, I've spent too long looking! Your crochet is amazing, I have been so out of practice that it's come as a bit of a shock to be so awful at it!

  10. Sorry I'm so late, I finally found a few minutes between carving the pumpkin and roasting the seeds! Love the last funny, so much sugar! 😄 I think you did a lovely rendition of the mushroom! Each time you do one, you will get better! Keep going! Bella looks so comfy cozy, I can almost hear her purring from here! 🎃Lindart#14

  13. Oh my, Lynne... the vampire bat cracked me up! LOL
Good to see you painting again. Please take your time. Bella looks comfy. I don't crochet as much as I used to because Tabby wants to lay in the middle of it.
    Creative Blessings! `
