WOYWW 871 Tricky perspectives and crochet

Hi all,
I’m back for our weekly bloghop care of Sarah’s Craftshed. Sending healing hugs to Neet, and hoping you’re recovering.
Here’s my desk:

You wouldn’t believe how tricky egg boxes are to draw, they’re a minefield of tricky perspectives. We’re doing watercolour over graphite so the shading is all done in graphite and the watercolour is applied on top.
I have yarn left over from Brian’s slipover so I’m making myself a waistcoat (not to be worn at the same time he’s wearing his!)
I’m making this with just two colours of the yarn, plus cream, under Bella’s supervision, of course. She sends you all purrs.
There’s a rainbow one and shades of blue & green, which seem to work well.

One thing I don’t like about this King Cole yarn is the neps which are supposed to give the yarn a tweedy vibe.
They’re only loosely attached so I’m pulling them out. They look dirty to me.

I’ve also tried a ‘Melt the ICE hat in support of the people of Minneapolis.
And finally ….

I’ll be round to visit when I come back from art class -I hope there are biscuits😀
Happy WOYWW

  1. I can remeber Mr Jinx (my cat) sitting on his cat bed...or on my laptop...("did somebody say
'mouse'?") Have fun at you art class, your paintings are lovely! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn))#6,

  2. Funny I have been tempted by some yarn called "Make it Tweed" that has those little neps but coloured. I wonder...Will enjoy seeing the waistcoat when finished - surely you can both wear them just for the photo op?? :D
    Happy pre-Knitting WOYWW!

  3. There’s loads of weird angles in egg boxes, it must be really tricky to get them right! An interesting project though and one which makes you really look at something closely. Your crochet top is lovely, the pattern and colours work ever so well but yes, not to be worn at the same time as Bri lol!! The funnies made me hoot, especially the cat bed and Alex!

  5. The cat bed funny made me laugh because Dolly does the same thing. I am a bit Alexa phobic and accused her of listening to to the conversation. She denied it of course🤣🤣. I can’t repeat the name but the hospital think it is a nerve condition and I am now on amitriptyline.hugs Angela #12

  6. Your egg box sketch is brilliant, they are not easy and I can see why it was chosen to use graphite for this. Look forward to seeing it completed. Love the rainbow yarn and love the funnies, that's cats for you! Happy woyww, Angela x8x

  8. Wow, Lynne, the egg box sketch is marvellous, it would never occur to me to sketch something so every day, but I can see the challenge and the reason; I do admire your staying power. Brian’s slipover is marvellous, I think a waistcoat for you is a great idea, the yarn is so nice. Made me laugh about wearing them together a la Howard and Hilda…..we have mistakenly done that with T-shirts at the gym!!

  9. How annoying that those little neps spoil the yarn for you. Maybe an email to King Cole. Their yarn is usually pretty good. Nevertheless, your waistcoat is working up beautifully.x x Jo 🌈

  11. Loving the drawing Lynne - looks amazing. The waistcoat is coming on marvellously too. Not at Mum's as I have a rotten cold and didn't want to inflict it on her. Making quick visits between samples. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
