Lapis #420

Hi all,
Is Wednesday coming round even faster than usual or is it just 'cos I'm back at work?

Anyway, here are my two workdesks this week - inside for jewellery, and outside for painting

The feline supervision has been very lackadaisical this week - must be the weather!

The bits came for my lapis lazuli earrings so I had to think how to put them together. The infinity loops weren't big enough to take a lapis bead, but I thought they might have taken one of the gold knots.

In the end, tho, I preferred the infinity loops empty and used the knots for a second pair.

Finally, a thought for the families of those horribly hit by a terrorist attack, ie a van driven at them, outside the Finsbury Park Mosque in London, this week. The terrorists of the earlier attacks are not representative of Moslems. Innocent families leaving Ramadan prayers should be safe from such horrors.

that's all for this week, have a good week, all! hugs, Lynne

  1. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments about Finsbury Park. It's been a very sad week all round.
I think you should give your cats a talking to about their lack of supervision, lol! Though I haven't been much better, every window has been open to catch what little draught there is. The lapis earrings are lovely, I think the space in the infinity loops works well.

  2. It's been a terrible week all round. I don't blame the cats for preferring to supervise outside rather than inside given the current weather. The earrings are gorgeous. I like the infinity hoops left empty. Sarah #28

  4. Hi Lynne, love the earrings. I've made myself a whole batch of really simple ones, buying cabochon semi precious stones, and flatbacks to glue them to.Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #9 XxX

  7. Your little earrings are beautiful - I find crafting helps to focus the mind but the events of the week have been so awful it is difficult for us at times. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are suffering at this time. x Jo

  9. Happy Belated WOYWW. You are clever. I nearly got into the world of jewellery making, but resisted buying all the stash that I would have needed. Got enough in my craft room as it is! Ali x #30

  10. I just fear for the state of the world at the moment. It's awful and all parties are not representative of normal peoples views and opinions. They are just thugs, bullies and murderers jumping on any bandwagon to be able to go about their mindless violence. I so feel for everyone involved. I can't see an end to it anytime soon either :(

On a lighter note - your cat is perfectly representative of me in this heat :)

  13. Nice earrings. I think my two dogs have been a bit like your cat, no interest in crafting at all this week. Have a great crafty belated woyww, Angela x22x

  14. Love the earrings! Kitty looks very comfortable in lying in the sun - a fav pastime of my kitties as well! Penny says "Hi!" BTW, the basil was supposed to be rubbed all over my journal page to bring nature into the page, and maybe smell as well,(but my page doesn't smell like basil), and then we were supposed to drop it into our water! Oh the silly things we do in workshops! Thanks for your visit earlier! Lindart #42
