Hi all, back again for our weekly blog hop, care of Miss Julia. I’ve done some building of a border on my cardigan, and some sewing up.
Most of my time has been spent on computers since Bella walked on my laptop keyboard and it started spitting Ccccccs everywhere.
Seeing my manuscript disappearing in cccccccs was a bit terrifying. Lots of efforts with a local repairer but no joy so I bought a new laptop and have been setting it up.
It felt critical at the time, although I haven't lost much and at least I have the resources to sort it out.
And finally
Hugs

I love seeing the progress on your crochet every week and of course your funnies provide a much needed smile every week. This week and lasts gave me double laughs. Very welcome. Hope we will see you model your cardi when you get it done!

It was the cat head sticking up through the crochet squares that made me smile lots, how kind of you to be crafting in order to keep her lovely and cwtchy! I bet you had a moment when you realised about the laptop, thank goodness you’ve managed to rescue most of your work, blimey, that was a close shave. The cat funnies made me laugh, especially the one about the ark - we have discovered this British Museum series of lectures on YouTube called Curator’s Corner and this chap called Irving Finkel (Assyriologist) did one about the Noah’s Ark story, it’s fascinating. He’s a bit of a character!!

Love your crochet - and the kitty in the middle! What a pain about the laptop, shame it had to buy a new laptop, but at least your work was OK. Phew!! Great funnies. Have a good week. Love n hugs Cindy xx #14
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your laptop needing replacement. I hope you have stopped Bella's pocket money for the week, or a bit longer. It's like Strictly Dancing at your house - "Keeeep crocheting". Hope we get to see it when finished.

ps I only make three special cards because of the time and effort needed - the others will be much easier to make. But I do enjoy doing 'special' ones and one guy loves them so much he keeps them all and brings them out each year. I can't not make him one.
Your crochet is looking good and I had to laugh at the little ears poking out from between the squares - how cute is that! I'm glad you are getting your laptop problems sorted out, nothing quite as stressful as the thought of possibly losing valuable work is there. I love the funnies this week, thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week,

Always nice to have a smile and a laugh at the funnies. Your cats are beautiful, my Dolly doesn’t like it if I have the laptop on my lap either and is most insistent that I move so she can curl up! Happy WOYWW Angela #7
ReplyDeleteOh my, don’t be sewing that Gracie into the border! Glad that you were able to get a new laptop, it doesn’t matter how extreme the action, the horror of losing anything when you’re a writer must have been heart stopping!
ReplyDeleteIt may have felt like a hammer to crack a nut, but I’m really glad you were able to get a new laptop…the thought of losing your writing must have been quite heart stopping! Do be sure to exclude a Gracie or a Ella from the border sewing won’t you, they will definitely affect the fit!! Loving the ice cream funny, particularly.
ReplyDeleteoh Bella!! Glad you didn't lose too much on your laptop... must be quite the thing at present after me last week! good funnies, as ever. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

Your crochet is looking lovely and coming along well. I'm terrified that Silver the kitten will settle on the computer keyboard and ruin everything ... it seems to be a cat thing to do, and she does live up to the reputation that cats are curious. Love the photos of yours - butter wouldn't melt. The funnies made me chuckle. Sorry I'm so late. Elizabeth x #24
ReplyDeleteOh I'm way late replying, so sorry. Have fun with the Welsh, I have a splattering of it as I partly grew up in Wales and we did it in school. Favourite word is Pili-pala - Butterfly. But then Popty Ping always brings a smile. Hebrew is something different altogether considering the script and it being a consonant only alphabet! Your Cardi is coming along nicely and sorry to hear of the laptop but glad it wasn't as disasterous as first thought. BJ#17
