WOYWW 880

Hi all,
Just a quick post as I slipped on Monday and came down hard on my tailbone. It seems fractured but, when the paramedics phoned, they said it would be pointless going to hospital as all they could do was to give me pain relief.
I can just about walk but changing between sitting and standing is v painful. I wasn’t going to post today, but having woken at 5sm…

This week’s art class would’ve been a portrait of a naturalist with collage, so I was wondering about a portrait of the lovely Hamza Yassin, from BBC nature programmes and Strictly, who, I’d heard, sadly has stage 4 cancer. As well as collecting photos of birds, to use in the collage, I was wondering if I could make him some dreadlocks.
I tried an I-cord maker, but it  took all Sunday evening to do this little bit. It’s supposed to slip over the 3 hooks but I have to pull each stitch over the hook individually. Any tips welcome!
I’ve completed my 10 cannula sleeves and just need to tie the ends in after washing them.

Brian and Bella have been a great comfort, and Bella sends you all purrs.

And finally,
I saw this in the cafe at Perry Court farm on Saturday and couldn’t resist it.

I particularly like the Swiss Army knife attachments 😂

I’ll try to visit,
Happy WOYWW
Hugs

  1. oh Lynne, I hope you recover soon and the pain isn't too bad... it doesn't sound very helpful of the paramedics. I hadn't heard that Hamza has cancer, how sad, but good luck with the collage! Love the funnies, esp the Swiss guard! Happy(hopefully) WOYWW Helen #1

  2. You poor thing! that's awful. It's easy for them to say nothing can be done but if it doesn't calm down I would get it looked at anyway. I do hope you feel better soon. The funnies are good and love the dalek, must show this to hubby he will like it too. Happy, I hope! woyww, Angela x8x

  3. I’m so sorry that you’re in pain from tripping Lynne, really hope those pain meds you[ve got kick in and do the trick. I had no idea about Haza having cancer, goodness me, that’s so sad, I think your collage is a great idea but I have no idea about the icord whatsit, never heard of it tbh! The Perry Court blackboard made me hoot, I think I;m safe from kidnapping then!!
    Gentle hugs to you,

  4. So sorry to hear you are in a lot of pain. My friend broke her shoulder in a fall and they didn’t do anything for her except pain relief and sent her home. Very sad to hear about Hamza, he always seems a lovely person. Hugs Angela #9

  5. Ouch!! what a horrible accident. so frustrating to be in pain and unable to move freely. My sister did the same two years ago when she slipped getting out of a hot tub (which made me even more determined never to use one!!). Hope it heals quickly. Those canula sleeves are very cheery. Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #13

  7. Good gracious Lynne, I’m so sorry for you, I fractured my tail bone whilst at school a million years ago and spent about 6 weeks in bed…how treatment attitudes have changed, motion is lotion these days, but do be cautious! Shocked about Hamza too. Love the idea you had for the dreadlocks, I can’t offer advice, I’ve never seen such a device…I’ve still got a cotton reel with nails in it!!

  8. The anonymous comment was mine… sorry. Can’t understand why even when I’m using Google elsewhere to comment, it defaults to Anon on your comments board. Argh.!

  9. Oh no Hamza - I didn't know - although can't find any definitive info online? Making dreadlocks what a great idea. Love the bright knitting colours too. Hugs Bj#3

  12. LOL! eat cake. I feel your pain, literally. So sorry for the generic post - my back is still just too painful for my desk and two-fingered tiny keyboard typing is too much for my usual wordy replies. But Happy quite late WOYWW nonetheless!
