WOYWW 882 more birds and other flying things

Hi all, I’m back for our weekly bloghop care of Sarah’s Craftshed.
Sending healing hugs to our Neet, to all who are feeling under the weather and thanks for your good wishes for me.
I’m making another bird beading project, though this is for keepsakes rather than sewing.
Again the project is by Rachel from The Wishing Shed.
My desk comprises a couple of boxes and three raffia lidded baskets.
They are for notions and threads, beads and squares of felt.
I’m trying a bit of embroidery but I’m not sure I’ve succeeded. Can anyone tell what it is, please? I’ve plenty of felt left to try again.

I was trying to copy this
This might be a better model to copy.

Bella supervises and sends you all purrs.

My back is slightly improved, but after discussion with my excellent physiotherapist , I’ll not be going to our village festival in Beaujolais next week. We’ll see our goddaughter and family there in July for her birthday.
And finally….

I’m trying a lighter pain killer today and hope it’s enough so I don’t doze all day - I’ll try to do better this week in visiting.
Happy WOYWW
Hugs

  1. I'm glad your back is better - it just takes so long for that to happen with back pain doesn't it . The embroidery in a hoop on blue fabric is lovely - I guess it's easier to get a good finish rather than on felt. Keep at it- embroidery is such a relaxing thing to do once you get going isn't it.x x Jo 🌈

  2. The owl is rather fab, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the embroidery and beading. Your raffia boxes are lovely too, holding all kinds of treasures. I hadn’t guessed it was a Golden Snitch you were working on, it looks better on the dark fabric I think. I’m relieved your back is better but it must be disappointing not to get to France this time.

  3. I do like the bird-in-the-making and what a cute baskets you got there! I had to grin about the funnies at the end of this post, it's a 'thing' getting older isn't it? I hope your back will improve so that you don't have to use the heavy painkillers. It's about finding the right balance... Happy woyww and hug from Holland! Marit #11

  4. Looks like the Golden Snitch to me! The owl is very cute - I will have to find it but I saw a vintage printer's sample that was an owl with outstretched wings that looks similar to this. I'll send it along. Enjoy the beading. Glad your back is better too - man it is just the WORST when you back plays up. It's so integral to MOVING it really just makes you want to NOT!
Happy both of us a-bit-better WOYWW!

  8. I’m glad your back is improving…I hope the pain tablets allow you to enjoy life. I hate the way some of them mess with your head.

  9. Just to let you know that next week's WOYWW will be a celebration of Neet (RIP) so if you wanted to put any pictures you have of her on your blog too that would be lovely. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

  10. Slowly slowly Lynne, infuriating, but backs down take time don’t they. Loving that you have boxes and baskets of notions, and that you’ve embroidered a snitch..I did see it but the white felt made me really look hard!! Love the way you pick such apparently random subjects to reproduce in art or stitch, I just know my time would be spent choosing something I felt was easy!!

  12. Sorry I am SO late this week - the week ran off without me! I LOVE the beaded bird! Looking forward to seeing it finished. And of course, that is a snitch, I did recognise it right away! Keep embroidering, it gets better with practise! Hoping your back feels better and better every day❤️ Lindart #13
