Hi all, Here we are for our weekly peek at each other’s crafts and work desks.
My cat stitch shawl is progressing. I think I’ve made it too wide, but the wool is very unforgiving and won’t frog (undo), so I can’t correct it.
If you don’t know knitting or crochet, frogging might seem strange but it comes
from the sound of frogs, as in “ribbit” or rip it....

I’m making it as a pocket shawl with a back, two fronts (and two pockets).
How lovely that you got the extra buttons, people are generous when it’s for a good cause! The cat shawl looks beautiful but I’m with you, certain yarns making frogging a nightmare - that shawl looks great and very practical, hope it turns out well.
ReplyDeleteThe And Finally made me laugh, especially the Craft one! Thanks for the Nostepinne, it’s shown on my blog today.

Morning Lynne. new buttons - ooo - yummy! Glad they arrived - and how kind of the company to send you extras. That's a real bonus of friendship. The shawl looks lovely - despite being a knitter, I have never come across the term Frogging. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour shopping challenge "and finally" had me laughing out loud! It's great.
Take care. God bless.

It's a lovely touch when someone sends a little extra, i've noticed this happening so much more during lockdown. Your shawl looks magnificent. So nice to get cuddles from our furbabies, even though they always seem to want them when the interesting things are on TV. Best wishes this WoywW Tracey #4
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is fabulous! Have a good week . Helen #10
ReplyDeleteSarah told me my link was not working so I am linked in at 21 for a second time.
ReplyDeleteLove the Nostepinne you got for Jan, what a lovely thoughtful gift for a knitter. Now I have learned two new words - the gadget you ought for Jan and the woll term. Although as a non-knitter I am not surprised.
Love seeing your photo of Thea, makes me long for a cat again but I am being strong.
Hugs, Neet 21 xx
LOL, that did make me laugh about not buying craft supplies! I thought you were taking part in a challenge! I knew of the word frogging but had no idea where it came from. I'm not a wool-er though so I have no idea why it won't undo, I thought they all did! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #14
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is looking gorgeous it's such lovely yarn. I'm sorry but the idea of not buying any craft supplies I'm not sure I can manage that but it doesn't specify the year so maybe it was last year and it's too late for me to try Lol! Hee! Hee! Have a lovely week and happy woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteI think your cat stitch shawl is brilliant, Lynne! The bigger the better, I'd say. A nice lot of kitties to wrap around you and keep you really snug. I expect Thea would enjoy sharing it with you, too. So sweet, her holding your hand! My first kitty got injured once - the vet thought a glancing blow from a car - she survived and made a full recovery - but that night she crept into my bed and put her paw in my hand for comfort. It was so touching. I rub Ruby's paws a lot - she loves it. Love both your funnies! I know Shaz would approve - particularly of the second one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting - glad you enjoyed the kitty photo bombing! Massaging "worthy" kale (love it!) certainly makes it a lot more tender. For one of my recipes you have to steam some sweet potato, and for the last minute or so, you put the kale on top till it's wilted, and that's another way that really helps, too. I did make almond milk kefir for a while - when I was still eating dairy I was making dairy milk kefir all the time and loved it. However, the grains started to suffer with the almond milk and weren't growing any longer, so I gave it up. I drink kombucha every day though (which I have been making for several years now) so I'm getting a good dose of probiotics. I've also started making tepache, which is a mildly fermented pineapple drink - it's made from the rinds and cores, and is delicious. Fermented foods are really good for you.

Thanks for explaining frogging, makes complete sense now. Shawl looks lovely and the buttons are scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW and thanks for the visit BJ#1
Your shawl is looking gorgeous, I haven’t come across the term frogging meaning undoing in either crochet or knitting. Enjoy your kitty cuddles. My daughter in law’s cat is non stop meowing at the moment and driving them nuts! Angela #31
ReplyDeleteSuch a kind thought to send you extra buttons, The shawl looks lovely and hope it works out ok and the extra size will be okay,
ReplyDeleteTake care and stay safe,

Sorry I’m late! am loving the idea of the pocket shawl, heat idea. I look for pockets before I buy tops and tunics. May very well be forces into making a few just to satisfy my need. Why is it assumed that women don’t want pockets! It’s a lovely looking stitch I must say, but unforgivable would not be a good yarn to give me to work with!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late, I was sure I'd been! I remember the 'thought bubble!! See you later today! Happy very late WPIYWW Lyn #6
