I'm not up to making and sending out ATCs yet, but here's a little ditty for you all, on rainbow lace, since the 13th anniversary =lace.
I’ve finished my little squares blanket and am now working on a Crochet along blanket by Polly Plum. It’s a blanket with an interesting triangular construction called In a Tizzy. It works best with cake yarn, as the stripes ray out from the centre, but I’ve had some mares with online wool colours. I can’t go wool shopping yet so I’ve been at the mercy of the online shops.
This one turned out horribly muddy
This one looked very different from the online picture
All that yellow will get used some time but not for this.
Hopefully I’ve now found the colours I want.
Bella and Gracie send purrs to you all
And finally….
I am not swapping this year either Lynne. Hope you are up to going wool shopping in person again soon, must be really frustrating. Meow to Bella and Gracie. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteHappy 13th WOYWW Lynne! I LOVED your poem, perfect to sum up what this Wednesday lark is all about! I see what you mean about that wool, they hid the yellow completely on the web photo and it doesn’t look right in for what you’re aiming for, I much prefer the second one.
ReplyDeleteSending hugs to you and hope you’re feeling a bit better each day,

I have missed your yarn-y makes and your funnies! So happy to make it back for the big week. Happy 13th year of WOYWW!

Great funnies. I love the yarns but agree - I too have had a few online disasters - it's so hard to get a true colour representation isn't it. Happy 13th WOYWW anniversary! Thanks for the years of friendship and inspiration. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to comment on all blogs today [I'm using the laptop cos I struggle on my Ipad] Happy Anniversary to you. It's a wonderful community we belong to and it's so lovely to have made so many friends thanks to our WOYWW link ups. Really love your little ditty.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I enjoyed your poem and your funnies. Bleubeard says meow to Gracie and Bella.
ReplyDeleteI love your crochet, even what you are calling bland. However, I am sorry you got yarn that didn't work for the second quilt. There was definitely no yellow in the internet photo. I hope you find a good use for it in the future. Happy 13th from # 1.
Love your little lace poem - thank you. Sorry you are not feeling up to normal as yet, hope it soon happens and yu can enjoy the lovely weather.
ReplyDeleteLovely crochet and I don't mind the colour of that one, it's nice as they all are.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
It is such a gamble buying yarn on line isn't it, although I have to say I do like the muddy one! It's very frustrating that the company didn't photograph the entire blue ball and show a small sample of the yarn knitted up -that's a lot of yellow to hide but they managed it surprisingly well! I love the colours you have finally chosen, very calm and pretty. The throw is also gorgeous - just my colours, as I'm sure I've said before! I do hope you are soon well enough to go yarn shopping in person.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW anniversary, and I hope you have a good week - love the funnies by the way.

ReplyDeleteIt’s amazing how different colours can look online and always disappointing when it’s different. Happy 13th WOYWW Anniversary x Angela #13

Oh I love your poem Lynne, how v thoughtful. And I know it makes a difference when it’s not what you thought but actually I really like all the yellow in that yarn! It’s a lovely pattern , In a Tizzy! It is going to look gorgeous in the lighter yarn too, already makes me a bit wanty! Your small squares blanket is really lovely, I think you’re a bit prolific! We talked on FB today about our rapid trip to Hythe. We order about twice a year from this particular place and they don’t deliver, so there’s every chance that I’ll be back…pre pandemic I always did the collection on my own, I’m not really sure why Bart decided to come today! Probably the longest ‘date’ we’ve had together for a while though!!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated 13th!
ReplyDeleteGreat little poem!
I, too, like the yellow. So cheery!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Lynne, sorry to hear you've been bad with COVID - it can really take it out of you can't it. I think I was set back for over 4 weeks but then again I didn't have any vaccinations.
ReplyDeleteSuper ditty, forgot it was the lace anniversary. Love the crochet triangles too, very unusual I must say. Hope you get your energy back soon.
I've been concentrating on my Hebrew so not done any Welsh in weeks as it happens. Oh well.
Sorry I'm so late, I seem to get busy Wednesday's through the weekend....
Happy very belated WOYWW Anniversary BJ#18
