A friend who’s a beekeeper asked me for a twiddle sleeve for her partner, with animals, a bee etc. Although I don’t enjoy the knitting of cannula sleeves now, I’ve carried on making twiddles and sent three bags full yesterday to women in the Handmade for Dementia group on Facebook who’ll make cannula sleeves for hospital patients with dementia.
As we were west of the dreaded M25 we went on to Crediton, Devon, for a few days to see my cousin, her husband and family.
Here’s my cousin and I outside the Fisherman’s Cot, near Tiverton. She’s standing on a step, btw!
Devon has lots of chocolate box pretty thatched roofs and narrow, winding lanes.
My headaches resolved into a nasty sinusitis, and I’m now on antibiotics as it’s affecting my lungs. Fingers crossed, I’ve caught that early.
Gracie and Bella were glad to see us home and send you all purrs.

I’m glad you’re home safe after all the travelling, hope the funeral went as ok as these things can. That’s a really lovely photo of you both in Devon, I’m sure your cousin was pleased to see you xx I hope the antibiotics kick in really quickly and head things off at the pass, so to speak. The wolf howling at the Chinese balloon made me laugh out loud, people are so quick off the mark with cartoons! I liked the Welsh version you shared on FB!

ReplyDeleteThe tin of corn opening made me laugh. One of our cats could smell a tin of pilchards from miles away and before I had even opened the whole lid she was at my feet, turning herself inside out in anticipation of a fish. The pilchards don't seem to taste the same nowadays but then . . . I do have the whole tin to myself . . .

Sorry about the funeral but these are things that happen more and more as we get that bit older - not that yu are anywhere near my age.
ReplyDeleteHope you recover fairly quickly, not fun when it goes on the chest. Great twiddlers made whilst you are resting.
I am in the same boat as you when it comes to exercise - very hit and miss and I forget all about them until it's well past the time to do them. Still if I manage them once a day it's better than nothing.

ReplyDeleteIt’s a lot of miles from your side to the other! So sorry that it was a funeral that sent you West, I hope seeing your cousin was a lift. The twiddle sleeves are marvellous, my mum had terrible awful long dementia and believe me, they are a priceless tool for the medics.

The twiddles are amazing; they may not be your favourite thing but believe me, they are a great tool for the medics treating dementia patients, my mum had horrible awful long dementia for ten years and the odd time she was poorly these cannula sleeves were the biz. Keep taking the pills, hope the sinuses clear up and don’t cause knock on effect.
