What's on your Workdesk Wednesday #415
Hi all, well, it's been a busy fortnight. Firstly we were in Provence, S. France.
This photo was from the amazing photographer, Nicolas Ughetto, who we met in Sault, a village just behind Mount Ventoux.
You can see more of his photos and videos of the countryside and and wild animals here.
It had snowed about 8 inches on top so we couldn't go as high as the Tour de France riders go, but we went up to about 4500 ft.
It's beautiful countryside, with some great wines, including Chateuneuf du Pape, classy Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise and other Rhone villages, and you eat really well.
We then went to Beaujolais, where our vineyard is, for family celebrations (our friends' 60th birthdays) and a village fete.
Much dancing, drinking and an all day banquet. Unfortunately my 26-year old god-daughter fell, breaking her ankle, while running after a toddler. She's back in Paris now, in plaster and not doing too badly.
Right is a picture of me with Mr LC (aka Brian). He hates having his photo taken!
I liked the way they served the canapés in particular, by making bread in the form of a cockerel and serving the canapés inside.
We then went to Wales to stay with our great friends Jan (aka LLJ) and Gordon and didn't stop talking for the whole 4 days :-) In Llandeilo we had the best weather of the entire holiday.
It was great sharing a workdesk with Jan, too, as shown on LLJ.
I was due to go to a staff conference and evening party at work this week, for which the dress theme is English country gardens. I'm not a flowery person, so Jan helped me find a top in Llandeilo (it's been a while, but I love shopping with her!) and then we designed a flowery necklace I could add.
However, I got home and my cough is now a chest infection. My doctor says I have to stay at home this week and rest. So plenty of time to make the necklace, but it will be for another time. I've also sent some beads, tools and findings to my god-daughter, as she said she isn't into most crafts, but liked it when I showed her how to make jewellery.
And finally (sorry this has been a long blog but it doe cover 3 weeks) here's my desk. I'm making a long chain with glass flowery beads, denim blue aventurine, silver flowers and trees inserted.
Hugs to all. Have a great week, Lynne xxx

OOh Lynne, you've done some lovely gadabouting! Jan said you'd bought a top and was getting me all prepared for my net visit, sounds like Llandeilo is a must. Although of course I won't turn down Beaujolais, either! Love the tree pieces you're adding to the necklace the aventurine is a lovely colour.
Hi Lynne, I also love those tree medallions- Beloved Hubby bought me a necklace with a similar design. Sounds like you've had a fab time, gadding around. I feel for you with the chest infection, they make you feel awful, and my last one caused the only asthma attack I've ever had in my life. The jewellery making is something that will help your god-daughter going mad with boredom, hope her ankle heals soon. So easily done though, I can remember my sister doing that many years ago, just turned her ankle over on a pebble- turned out she broke it. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX
Ooh the tree's in the necklace are very cool Lynne, love the trip photos a great deal too. :) ~Stacy #35
Hi Julia, the shop selling Goose Island clothes is moving to near Swansea, but a Jan has the details. Llandeilo is a great little town, with very friendly shop owners, and of course the Ginhaus is great. Beaujolais is great, too. Must be, we've been going there for near 40 years. We neatly bought a house once, but it fell through and our friends say we can always stay there anyway. Have a great week, hugs, Lynne #37
Used to do silversmithing classes and damaged my lungs breathing ammonia, so I get them easily. Still, I need to make some ATCs this week for the first time ever so I can use the rest ;-) hugs Lynne

Jan tipped us off that you'd been visiting, sounds like a great time was had by all. Helen #1
Love the chain and especially the trees. Thanks for the visit BJ#4
Well, first of all, rest! That is doctors' orders and now mine too!
Isn't it strange how we are never satisfied with what the camera shows us - when it is ourselves that are the subjects. Yet quite happy when we see photographs of others.
Yes, I have a portable desk but am afraid it will be portable for a few weeks yet until order is restored at home. Won't be in a hotel mind you.
I am in awe of your jewellery and would love to see more. I remember the chatelaine you made for Jan, incredible.
Thanks for posting all three weeks of your gallivanting. Love the French pictures, what a talented man. And then the vineyard - how wonderful to be part of the festivities like that. Something I would love when on holiday is to be part of a celebration of some kind, or a festival, just to watch would be lovely.
Sounds as if your friendship with Jan is a wonderful one, I like it when friends can meet up ages having past and it is just as if they were together yesterday.
God Bless you and get well
Hugs, Neet 13 xx
Just goes to prove that children are dangerous little creatures! lol. I am joking of course -and I do hope your god-daughter heals quickly.
Your photographs are stunning - and the necklace is gorgeous!
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Sorry this is late but I've not long got back from band practise! Great pics of your holiday in France and Llandeilo of course! Ooh, that adventurine was the perfect colour, it looks gorgeous with the silver tress in that necklace. Hope you're feeling a bit better now...
Hugs, LLJ 6 xxx
Pleased to see you had such a good time probably too good to find time to craft I think. Have a great crafty week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x
We drove a long way (about 2000m over 2 weeks). Brian drove a lot of the way, as he's an even worse passenger than me. When it was a decent trek, I knitted at least.
Thanks all for visiting. The tree of life charms are sterling silver from Cooksongold.com. I'll bring a jewellery project or two to the Crop.
Yes, ma'am 😜 I don't have much choice right now. If I sit still I don't cough so much and that's a virtuous circle. I'm quietly planning my first ever ATCs, knitting, reading all the WOYWW posts, and making my necklace. Oh, and acting as a custom cat lap every so often...😽😽
Hi Bubbles, many thanks. Surprisingly, as she's broken her tibia, she says she isn't in much pain so I hope she'll heal quickly and not be quick at putting stiletto heels 👠 back on 🙄
Well chosen by you, the adventurine. Coughing less thanks. How was the band practice now they're back from their jaunt?
Oops typos: Jan, not a Jan and nearly not neatly. Thanks for the visit Julia hugs, Lynne
Thinking of all the wonderful memories you'll share. How special!

Thanks for sharing the photos...what a lovely trip you had, despite your God-daughters ankle mishap. Lovely necklace also. Have a great week.

So sorry to hear you have a chest infection. Beautiful photos of your fun holiday. Rest and craft with a touch of antibiotics should do the trick.
sandra de @3
Beautiful necklace! And it sounds like you had a lot of fun on your trip! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #33
Wow you have been busy travelling. Hope your chest clears up soon. I'm sure you'll find another occasion to wear the necklace. Sarah #17
Thanks Sarah. I could wear it to Llandudno for example! Are you going? It would be good to have 2 Potters there 😃
I've had to have a lot of antibiotics since the chemical accident, so it's strong antibiotics and steroids.
I'm now drinking kefir every day to put some good bacteria back, as well. THanks for your good wishes, Sandra, have a good week,
hugs, Lynne
Thanks for visiting, all, have a good week, hugs Lynne
Oh such lovely photos Lynne - and also beautiful ones of you and your happy friend Jan - the love and friendship seemed to radiate from the photo! Hope you soon feel better - take it easy. xx Jo
Thanks, Jo, we've been friends for near on 35 years!
I've never done ATCs before, but I'm really getting in to them, and keeping still makes me cough less! have a good week, hugs, Lynne xx
