WOYWW 675 Squares for a blanket, smoothies

Hi all, thanks for all your good wishes again. I feel I’m making mini steps towards recovery but it’s slow.
So my desk this week is more squares for a blanket for the back of the settee, to protect it. There’s a tad more colour now, some touches of pale pink and ginger.
The other thing I’ve spent time on this week is making big green smoothies, with kale and fruit, parsley, celery, carrots and almonds, ginger and lime. Loading myself up with vitamins!  It feels like it’s doing me good anyway. I even managed my creative writing class on Monday, but energy levels are still very low, so please forgive if I don’t visit much. Stupidly, the part of covid that makes you exhausted and achy is your own immune response on overload. Caro’s GP friend kindly pointed me towards Cetirizine, which my own GP agreed, as well as respiratory steroids, but not much change yet.
Bella and Gracie are happy to have a static cat cushion, anyway. They’re finding the garden and its wildlife exciting and even brought a live blackbird in last night. They can do really LOUD alarm calls! Fortunately we were able to usher it safely out of the front door while keeping the cats away and it seems to have been ok.

And finally

Take care and happy crafting
Hugs

Love the Wales/whales funny Lynne. Hope the smoothies and medication help with the energy levels. I must admit that it took me a month before I felt back to normal. The blanket squares are fab. Meow to Bella and Gracie. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Well I’m glad you’re on the mend, albeit slowly and that you’ve had such useful info from various sources. The smoothies sound just the trick, full of vitamins to soothe your system. Fingers crossed that your recovery starts to pick up speed from now on. Love the crochet squares, they’ll look great over your sofa - I find squares are the perfect crochet project, nice and small, you can get a couple done each evening and it’s not a great blanket weighing you down and getting too hot!

I'm glad you beginning to feel better Lynne, it sounds like quite a long, slow slog to get back to full power. I hope the smoothies help, they certainly sound nurtritious. I am loving the colours of your sofa blanket - the touches of ginger are gorgeous. I love the funnies too.

Oh I smiled at your post, Wishing you the best for a fast recovery. It's hard to slow down the mind when your physical body can't do much. it's good to rest. I'm doing therapy on neck and shoulder, but I've been doing hot/cold here at home. I was hoping for more intense. I'm thinking massage might be a better choice. Take care hoping you have a quick recovery. Weather should be helping us.

That last funny really did make me laugh. Silver has brought a couple of mice home and only this week a pigeon that was almost as big as her! Your squares are beautiful. Like you, I've picked up my crochet hook again and I'm making squares too. I do hope you continue to feel better and make a full recovery soon. Elizabeth x #4

Argh, a live bird in the house is potential for chaos, so glad you ere able to free it without too much drama.
I’m sorry that your recovery is so slow, but any improvement is good. The smoothies sound disgusting to me, but I’m with you, if they might help, drink them! Like the addition of the ginger colour to the new throw.

sorry I'm so late! Hope you're feeling a lot better, but as you say, little steps! I love the funnies, 'specially the last one, Mr Jinx bought me in (my craft room) a mice present, chased it round the floor, so I thought it was still alive, but it wasn't. Loving the squares too, sometimes wish I could do more other than, 'make lots of mess in my crafty space!' But mostly this week (as I couldn't get on the internet, I've been tidying up the garden. Happy VERY late WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #20 last!
