WOYWW 840 Mountains and the wind

Hi all, I’m posting onto our weekly bloghop care of Sarah’s craftshed. I’m hoping you feel better soon, Sarah.
We love this hotel near Mont Ventoux so we’re staying an extra day.
Here’s my desk: watercolour painting on the terrace, mozzie cream and mojito in hand. I had to use yesterday’s painting as the Mistral is blowing in earnest today.

Here’s Mont Ventoux, (over 6,000 ft high) often used by the Tour de France, and halfway up there’s a monument to Tommy Simpson, a British cyclist who died there in the 1950s. The mountain changes colour so beautifully in the evening , I’ll have to try a painting of it then.
I was fascinated by the challenge of painting olive trees.

I had to stop for dinner but I’ll try again.

We went to the market in Vaison- La- Romaine. It was really big and busy, but then the Mistral strengthened and they were all packing up as fast as they could. Here’s one of their parasols in flight.
A lovely mural caught my fancy on the way in (and helped confirm our route back to the car on the way back.
Bella is doing ok, according to her Aunty Liz, and no doubt is sending us all purrs.😻
And finally…

You could read any of your favourite hobbies instead of quilting.

We go up to Létra en Beaujolais for the weekend and our goddaughter’s birthday party. Saturday will feature a fancy dress ball on the subject of French revolutions. I’ll say no more now but will let you know next week. 😼
Happy WOYWW. I’ll try and visit but it’ll be subject to local WiFi.
Hugs

How marvellous to find a place you like so much you want to stay on! Looks a great area for artistic inspiration too despite the wind. Bri looks very content with his book and beer! Hope the party goes well, it’ll be lovely for you to see your French family again.
The funniest made me laugh too especially 42 and IKEA!

Well impressed that you are painting on hols, was wondering what painting supply the tube was, zoomed in and found it wasn't for painting LOL. Super mountain shot and painting too. Great to see a photo of you two. Hugs BJ#1

Sounds like you're having a good time even if you're not getting much creative time though I'm sure you will get lots of inspiration for the future. Not long now till you all get together with the family. Happy woyww, Angela x7x

Looks like you are having a wonderful time and trying to paint despite the Mistral. I'm glad to read that Bella is settled while you are away. I really hesitate to leave Silver for more than a day. The fancy dress ball sounds found and how apt that last carton which made me laugh out loud, though I'm not sure why. I hate having to put together anything flatpack! Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Lovely spot indeed. Can't believe you are painting and not just lounging about, and happy to hear Bella is doing well. Your funnies are always a hoot - how do you find them LOL!?
Stay cool on this late, HOT WOYWW
