WOYWW 852 Art and chevron crochet.

Hi all, First of all, this week, Brian and I are sending big hugs to Julia and Bart, who had a major fire at their workshop. It’s hard to imagine how terrible it is for them with all they’ve lost. We’re only glad that no lives were lost in the fire.
It doesn’t seem 5 minutes since last Wednesday’s WOYWW, shared courtesy of Sarah’s craftshed. Here’s my desk, as I finish my Hand of Autumn watercolour.

I wasn’t at all pleased with the splodgy line down the left wrist so I disguised it with rosemary and bought the Fuumuui long liners advertised on Facebook and Amazon. They helped a lot; they are the short handled brushes balanced on my paint tin to the left.
Here’s the painting:

Tuesday and Wednesday are very busy this week so I’m scheduling this early. B had a Dat scan today (Tues)  which took about 5 hours as it included a tracer that needed 3h to get where it needs to be. I  took my crochet!
On Wednesday morning at art class, we’ll be starting a new project on funghi in situ. Our Helen has very kindly let me use her photos, and I’ve chosen these two:
The top one has better colour.
You do wonder what happened to the animal that bit a chunk out of the fly agaric!
In the afternoon we have the opening of our exhibition in Sandgate. I have my olive tree /Mont Ventoux painting, two views of Salt Cellar rocks, my Beaujolais, two crochet chickens and my crochet dragon on display.

Bella would prefer me to be at home doing crochet - she sends you all purrs.

And finally…

It will probably take me till Thursday before I can visit.
Happy WOYWW
Hugs

How wonderful that you’ve got such a range of your art/makes in the exhibition - I hope it’s a real success! I like your nature hand, that turned out well didn’t it, especially with the incognito rosemary, lol. I’m glad B found the scan ok, fingers crossed for a good result.

Wish we were local enough, I really like exhibitions where friends are showing, I have a textile artist friend who walked me through the most recent Andover guild displays, so much talent, like you, and all just doing it for the love of just doing it. Brian's scan sounds a trial if I'm honest, I hope you won't have to wait too long, I've nevr heard of a DAT scan before. I guess all these medical things come to light when you need to know. Thank you Lynne, for your thoughts and flowers, honestly, we've drawn on your strength and are facing forward, thank you.

I love your Hand of Autumn painting. Looks just wonderful. Your have some great choices there from H for the mushroom painting. I expect to be seeing more of that soon :D. You exhibiton sounds so fun and varied. Good luck with it, and I'm hoping the scan reveals only good news! Purs to Bella from a poorly Poppy :(
Stay safe, all.

Hi Linda, I don't actually think that is a Fly Agaric. I am very interested in Fungi and to me it looks like a Rosy Spike (Gomphidius roseus). Look forward to seeing your finished project. Your funnies made me smile and love the little robot. Wishing you a very happy and creative WOYWW. Hugs Angela x12x

Your hand painting is beautiful - I love autumn foliage and those reds and brown are right up my street! The exhibition sounds very interesting and you sound very well prepared for it - hope it all goes well for you. I had to laugh at the funnies, especially the UK/US crochet terms - I've got muddled up on those on many occasions, especially free patterns from the internet where it's not clear where they originated from.
Hope you have a great week,

Fabulous Autumn hand. You have a lot of texture underneath the toadstool, that should make an interesting backdrop. Great funnies! Happy WOYWW. Angela #13

Love this sort of exhibition Lynne, so nice to know someone who's work is on show, I recently went with a new friend to her Guild's stitching exhibition and she taught me so much about technique and how to see the personality of the pieces. Lovely stuff! Hope you're excited to see your pieces on display! I do love your Hand of Autumn, I have to say that your new brushes look insanely difficult to use! Thank you so much for the flowers and your support, it really has buoyed us.
