WOYWW 858 Alliums and crochet

Hi all, here for our weekly bloghop courtesy of Sarah’s craftshed, firstly sending healing hugs to Neet. Then here’s my desk:

This is my charcoal and watercolour study of alliums, the idea is that they’ve just come in from he garden.
We’re staying with an autumnal theme this week, doing squirrels. I’m very tempted by this one, quite the fluffiest I’ve seen, but it might be tricky as we’re not allowed to use white.

This one might be easier:

My crochet keeps growing:
Supervised by Bella who sends you all purrs.
I’m very much enjoying The Game of Wool. This week, one challenge was dog outfits based on icons such as David Bowie. Very silly, Bella said, she most definitely did not want one.
There was a dot jumper by Knitting for Olive that I liked, worn by one of the contestants.   I looked up their yarn and it was v expensive. Worse than that, they wanted £15 in tax, as it was coming from Denmark. I complained as I’ve never paid that with Hobbii and they explained it was because I was American. Well, they got a very stiff email back and I looked elsewhere.
I have the idea of making the circles from multicoloured yarn on a beigy background (about a third of the price of KfO yarn but still wool and angora).

I will finish my blanket first, though.
And finally

I’ll be round after art class - put the kettle on!
Happy WOYWW,
Hugs

Love your alium study! Good luck with the squirrel...
Additional postage charges mean that I no longer order outside Aus - a real pain!

Love the watercolour. And I am also enjoying GOW. Holgar (?) kills me, and the tension between him and the lady who was determined to add embellishments made me giggle so hard. I loved the jumper ... is it Ditzy? was wearing? So pretty but crikey - denmark really let the side down with that comment! Look elsewhere indeed. Can't wait to see that squirrel come to life!
Happy mad-dash WOYWW!

I suspect the TV programme will be responsible for quite a bit of yarn buying, lol, more so than usual I mean!! That’s a pain about the tax but their loss. Your allium study is great and I love the pics of the squirrel for the next project. Bella is quite right re the wearing of coats, her beautiful one can’t be beaten.

Loving your finished piece Lynne - I adore squirrels too! Sorry for the generic comment but I wanted to visit everyone before I start packing - early start tomorrow. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

Good luck with the squirrel, definitely prefer the first pic but not without white ! I think those dog outfits were very silly ! Not sure the series will do much to encourage knitters, but Tom is fun. Happy woyww Helen #2

Love red squirrels and those are lovely photographs. You could leave the paper white in those areas. Your allium study is great. Happy WOYWW. Angela #10

Oh my life, I linked this morning and then felt awful. Had a horrid headache last night and have been feeling awful all day, slept most of it feeling cold with 5 layers, now I'm hot again with the window open, think I must have another virus, probably picked up from waiting an hour in the hospital Monday for my annual appt.... So no not really feeling better after all what a pickle. Super study of Alliums. Buying stuff from abroad can be real tricky, but you aren't American???

Your allum study is gorgeous! You are getting better and beetter every day. I can't wait to see the squirrel study, quite a challenge wthout using white! The comics are good, I like the 4 horsemen the best, but the snowman is a good second! Too bad the yarn is so expensive, it's very pretty! 🍂❤️Lindart #14

Good morning,, Lynne
Prices are high in Denmark for sure LOL Looks like you may be on to finding something comparable in quality but much lower in price. Maybe do that first squirrel but with a hint of very light yellow or tan?
I always love your funnies and that snowman never gets old. LOL Should be in a picture version of Dirty Minds game. LOL
Creative Blessings!
