WOYWW 603 Ammonites and earrings

Hi all and wishing you all compliments of the season. Here we are again blog hopping via The Stamping Ground
This week I’ve done more beanies.

I also tried the spiral gloves again but there was too much counting to do. It doesn’t suit my crocheting while watching the TV, so I’ve tried another pattern, Ammonite fingerless gloves, which work better.

This is the pattern:

Sorry I didn’t get to visit many blogs last week; I had my osteoporosis jab and it knocked me for six. I know it works though; before July 2018 if I fell just on the level I broke a bone. I then had my first jab. Dec 2018 I fell down 3 steps at the London Bridge hospital and only broke my kindle.

Anyway, before the the jab we had my works Christmas quiz, which they kindly invited me to zoom in for. I learned last minute there were points for Christmas attire. Having just ogot out the Christmas decorations, LLJ’s Christmas puds came in very useful. 😀

This is a tree I bought in Nicaragua in 1986.
Our normal tree is full of memories: the fairy on the top that’s as old as me, the angel I bought in St Paul’s when I got them to let us use their special lift to take my Mum to the whispering gallery. Our friend Paula’s cracker, Jan’s Christmas puds, Natalie’s potters heart, the Persian looking decos from Paris, apples and bells from my Mum’s tree, globes from TCR and an icicle from Clara Vale.
Thea still loves my crochet cushion but also has a new friend....

It’s rained a lot but there was a nice sky on the way back from Margate, and yesterday we had a bit of a walk round the village, past St. Ethelburga’s well
And finally.....

I wish you all a happy Christmas and a much improved 2021. Take care and happy WOYWW
Hugs
Lynne

  2. The ammonite pattern is fantastic and really lends itself to those gloves, they look brilliant! I’m sorry the jab made you feel grim, worth it for the protection but not much fun to endure. Love the tree and decorations and I can’t think of a better use for the puddings than earrings!! Hope you and Brian have a good Christmas away from the madness, I know how fortunate I am to have the family here, the only problem might be getting Owen back to Reading at some point but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it!

  5. I'm so glad the Osteo jab works for you, just for one tiny tiny second I did wonder which bone the kindle was! I love the ammonite hand warmers and will definitely be having a go at them, I have the yarn and am just off to try and track down the pattern!
Hope you have a lovely Christmas, stay safe and well,

  6. I love the hand warmers! That design is fabulous! Thea is so pretty and what a fun new friend! Interesting for the "drone" deliveries, we're much too rural for such a thing. Glad your shot helps! Sorry about the Kindle. Merry Christmas and God bless!

  9. Roared with laughter at your funnies, Lynne, and shared them with my hubby! Brilliant! I'm glad Thea has a new friend to cuddle up with, as she must still be missing Dino. Sweet pictures of her.

I'm glad the treatments work, even if they are unpleasant. However, even though the Kindle is a smaller one than a normal bone, it's still jolly painful when you break it, and the place it hurts most is in the wallet lol!! I love those ammonite gloves. Where did you get the pattern? They look as if they'd be fun to make. I've got several pairs of bright multicoloured knitted fingerless mittens - random stripes and each finger a different colour which always cause some amusement!

Thanks for visiting. My hubby and I roared at the suggestion that Ruby is dainty!! Lol lol! She's a great fat lump that weighs a ton! She's really solid. The combined weight of the two of them is over a stone lol! They completely weigh me down when I've got both of them on top of me. Last year the vet told her she was fat, but it didn't shame her into doing anything about it. I think Lily is worse, though!

My hubby is very pleased with his new brolly. He never reads any labels or instructions so quite often his purchases come as a bit of a surprise to him!

Have a lovely Christmas and enjoy opening your Tiny Carpet - happy WOYWW,

I hope by now the lorry drivers have started to disperse and are safely on their way to home for them all. Didn't realise you lived down there.

    1. Thanks Neet, very kind of you. it started as just a festive band but then played 2nd fiddle once I thought of the earrings.
Some locals are grousing about the lorries parked everywhere but they forget these are KEY WORKERS imprisoned with little food, water or toilet facilities just for wanting to go home.
I hope they make it soon.
Hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas
      Love Lynne

  17. Love love love the Ammonite gloves, might have to try them myself. It has just reminded me to put my fingerless gloves on as my hands get cold at my desk.
