Hi all, I hope you had a good Easter? We went as far as the garden centre for some new plants but not much apart from that. We thought of a day in Rye, but it was ringed in red on google maps so not worth sitting in traffic.
Here’s my desk.
My first attempt at painting my kingfisher was far from satisfactory. The background was too busy and the bird wasn’t stocky enough.
Learning from my mistakes, here’s my second version, with areas lifted out for highlights.
The background is different from the photo but I like the suggestion of water and from where the kingfisher pulled the fish out.
I’ve a new project in mind but I’ll work on that a bit, first. My dreams often outspan my reach.
Bella would like kingfisher and sprat for tea but not allowed!
She sends purrs to you all.
I’m sewing up my cardigan and will post a photo when it’s done. And finally…
Take care and happy WOYWW
Hugs

I think if we worried too much about how I work might turn out we'd never make anything and the Kingfisher looks great to me. I'm sure Bella would love those two for tea and would too if she could catch some Lol! I enjoyed the funnies too. Have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x7x
Trying to get back into a routine. Thanks for all the love and support. Great desk today. Sarah #11
That's the trouble with these short holidays - the traffic is insane. Better to stay local and just go for a walk, or stay in and craft.
Love the kingfisher. You have taken to these painting classes like a duck to water.
Have you done painting before?
Great funnies.

What a stunning bird that little kingfisher is. Your second attempt is beautiful. Love the funnies. 🤣
Great kingfisher! Thanks for visiting earlier and your comments. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
The kingfisher is lovely, and I'm still smiling at the need to make him more 'stocky', who'd have thought! I agree about the watery background, it is a marvellous effect. We didn't go far over Easter either, I expect places as lovely as Rue really were busy.
Great kingfisher, I have never been lucky enough to see one in the wild. Happy WOYWW. Angela #10
Hi Lynne, thank you for your visit, as usual I ma playing catch up! Glad my seagull card gave you a happy memory (though personally I'm shuddering at the thought of a seagull attack - they so big up close!!) - sorry there weren't any seagulls on the card!! I'm afraid I rarely go anywhere sightseeingy on Bank Holidays - now we are retired it makes more sense to go on a normal weekday!! Love the re-worked kingfisher, and glad you are happier with it. Purrs back to Bella and I love the hedgehog funny!! Have a great week, love n hugs Cindyxx #8
Oh definitely had to soak in your desk with all the watercolour "candy" sigh. Gorgeous updated kingfisher and the background it superb artist's licence is what it is all about.
I haven't even given "fixing the dyes" on my ribbons a thought. I mean I don't "fix" the dyes on paper so no need in journals really, but thanks for the thought, I'd have to look into that. Hugs BJ#13
Morning! I'm here at last and once again you were in spam ....Love the pictures. I Used to watch the kingfishers flying along the little river at the bottom of my garden when I was a kid. Super birds and very clever fliers! Hope you had a fabulous Easter and A Happy WOYWW too! sorry I'm so late! (Lyn))#15
Yay to finishing the cardi, and I agree Mark II is better - I also like the hint of water! Bella is looking like she would snaffle that birdie up given a chance...Thanks for the much needed smiles from funnies.
Back to late but Happy WOYWW!

Why oh why does it FAIL TO PUBLISH??
I apologize for the late visit. Our modem suddenly became uncooperative. Getting on the internet was a hit or miss thing!
You did a great job from rendering #1 to rendering #2! Your skills seem to inrease with each post! It has been fun watching your growth! I have three new watercolor sets that need swatching. I love your color wheet! Keep us the good work!
Have a wonderful week!
