WOYWW 786

Hi all, I’m scheduling this one from Normandy.  Not sure if I’ll be able to comment as we’re in the Loire valley on Wednesday. No idea if we’ll have WiFi, but join in via Sarah’s craft shed and I’ll comment if I can.
Just about WiFi, here, but not enough to get the photos from my camera. Had a lovely morning at Monet’s garden in Giverny.
French kids learning English learn to say ‘Brian is in the kitchen,’ so here he is 😀

Very silly bouffant-headed hens (photo below, not above 😏)

We didn’t see any koi carp in the ponds, one dark shadow of a fish.

I think I’ve almost finished my koi carp just got to put in some ripples. I’m quite pleased with it, and have had an offer to buy it!

Sweet Bella has her aunty coming to feed and fuss her.

And finally

Have a good week

WOYWW 785 Koi Carp

Hi all, my desk this week is all about koi carp!
I’m enjoying this project and tomorrow (Wednesday) we’ll finish painting the big fish and will work on the little fish we created last week by wiping out paint between cut out stencils. My tutor last week confessed to ‘stencil envy’ as I’d bought fish scale stencils to help with painting the fish.

We’re also using net, cut from a bag of tangerines for small scales.
Last Thursday I finished my mixed media still life. It’s ok but I found using oil pastels to be harder to be precise with, though they made good lime and lemon peel textures.

I’ve enlisted my Lyonnaise friend’s advice and she thinks St Tropez bags are back in fashion and that my French goddaughter (her daughter) would like it. 😀. I’ve added magnetic clasps this week, but that’s all.
Bella was very good at the vets today for her annual jab. She’s recovering from the trauma with a nice snooze and sends sleepy purrs to you all.

It may well be tomorrow evening before I can comment much as I’m out at my fishy watercolour class tomorrow.
And finally…
I’ve shown this before but it popped up on fb again and I couldn’t resist.
Not a cartoon but he does look cross!

WOYWW 784 Koi carp and wax fruit

Hi all,
I hope you’re all well and crafting? I'm here to join in our weekly bloghop, now courtesy of Sarah's Craftshed.
Last Wednesday’s art class was fun, we’re doing Koi carp, with the fishes masked and lots of wet in wet paint, into which we put  rounds of grease proof paper and gauze to make stones and weeds, to which we added more paint.

This week we’ll paint the big carp above and will add more carp with stencils we’ve cut out.
I’ve also bought some stencils of scales to help with the painting. It’s a fun project!
At Thursday’s class we continued with the wax fruit and we’ll do a watercolour wash over these this week.
There are Claire’s examples.

My Thursday art class desk.

On Sunday, Brian and I had a stall to sell my novel, A Sense for Silver at Elham Food and Craft fair. We had a really good day and sold all but 3 of my copies of my novel. I’ve had to get more from the printer!

I had some lovely cards for my birthday including the stunning black and white one from our LLJ, beautiful presents including this silver potbank charm:

a lovely meal out at the Bridge Arms, and of course my summer art class series on Wednesdays.
Bella sends purrs to you all.

And finally:
This was in the news but it made me laugh. Poor Rover!

WOYWW 783 St Tropez bag, watercolour

Hi all,
I hope you’re all well. As it was half-term last week I had no watercolour class so I had time to finish my hare.
This week I have two watercolour classes as there’s a summer school in the next village which starts today (a very timely birthday present) and my usual Thursday class.
I’ve also finished the boho bag for my goddaughter. Brian said it looks a good bag for strolling along the front in St Tropez!
This one’s 2x9 4” squares.
It has a pocket on the inside for phone/ purse etc and is lined with a plain canvas tote.
I’m making a similar one for myself now, but with 4 x 6” squares per side.

Bella send purrs to you all
And finally…
