WOYWW 822 Sketchmad

Hi all, I’m back for our weekly bloghop courtesy of Sarah’s Craft shed. Here’s my first sketch from the new online sketch course I’ve joined. I think mine looks more like the late, lamented Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. .
Adebanji Alede is a good teacher, I think, and £10 for 5 lessons is good. I think he makes more from the long term  group and from affiliate links for supply purchases.
The purchase I’ve been most pleased with are these jumbo pencils. You can shade with them on the side of the lead to good effect. There was a bonus session this afternoon, which didn’t go so well for me. I should have stuck to the dimensions of the display as I’d printed the reference photo too big.

Tonight’s sketch will be this one:
It’s quite a leap!

I’m knitting again- a cardigan for my elder god-granddaughter (aged5). I will go back to the crochet hat but it’s too much intense counting at present. My head’s not there.

I’ve a new god-granddaughter, born yesterday to my goddaughter. She’s lovely and I look forward to meeting her when next in Stoke.
I’ve not been back up to Stoke but my cousin let me know my aunt’s now much worse and they’re trying to get her a place in a local hospice. I’m not surprised but it’s terrible news, she was so vibrant and practical. This was only last August.

Bella much prefers me knitting or crocheting to sketching as she can supervise. 😻 She sends purrs to you all.

We went for lunch at a lovely pub on Saturday: the Duck at Pett Bottom which used to be owned by Ian Fleming’s aunt.

I know who I’d like to put in these stocks. (Hint below)

And finally…

I’ll be back to visit after my watercolour lesson tomorrow.  I’d love to see your comments, but please could you remember to sign them - I’m not comfortable with totally anonymous comments. Thanks.
Happy WOYWW and all the best to you all
Hugs

Hi Lynne, looks like you've been very busy with our drawing and knitting. The photo you have for this evening looks very challenging. It really is so useful to have all this teaching and demos available to us these days - the internet is good for something!
Sorry to hear about your aunt, hope she is settled somewhere soon. Happy WOYWW, love n hugs Cindy #4

LOL! Yeah I know the exact idiot you refer to...we all do. Shocking, am I right? Your sketches are always wonderful, and the cardi is so pretty, with those sherbet colours. Your new god-daughter looks sweet and it sounds like the trip to Stoke will be both happy (a birth) and sad (hospice) as well as fun (the meet-up) - that's a lot for on trip.
Happy knitting day WOYWW!

How lovely to see the new baby, a really sweet pic and I love the cardi you’re making for the Big Sister, pretty colours. It’s so sad about your auntie, given what she was like only a few months ago, sending you hugs. The sketching course sounds a lot of fun, glad you’re enjoying it so much. Hugs to you both xx

Didn't need to turn to the 'funny' to know who you were talking about. He's on everyones hit list at the moment but please don't get me angry again about him, I just boil!
Sorry to hear about your aunt. What a lovely photo of her from such a short time ago. But also you have the lovely photo of a new life in the family, what a lot of hair the new baby has.
Just enjoy your drawing and don't get too hard on yourself when it doesn't go as you want.
Take care
Hugs, Neet 12 xx

Hi Lynne, pleased you're enjoying the new sketch course. Sorry to hear about your Aunt, I hope for her sake that things don't drag on. The new baby looks so sweet bet you can't wait to meet her. The skiers made me smile, not sure if that might have been us at some time but that's another story. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x9x

Hi, Lynne! Congrats on the new addition to your family! Your god-grandaughter is adorable! Sorry to hear about your aunt! My prayers to you and your family. I love your billboard! I will have to post that in our community app. The last one was deleted by the administrators (no sense of humor) but still I persist!

You are moving right along in your art class. I am always envious (in a good way) of people who can draw,. I am the only person in my family who can't. I must have squandered that skill in a past life! Anyway, your drawings are amazing!

Have an outstanding week. I look forward to seeing your sketch of the gentlemen!
