WOYWW 838 Thrones and apricots

Hi all, I’m back for bloghopping care of Sarah’s craft shed, though it doesn’t seem like a week has passed.
Here’s my art course desk for our ink and wash paintings. I’m now doing one of the logs and two details, one of a carved woodland throne in the park and another of animals on it.
Claire asked us to go straight in with pens rather than doing pencil first - (“its summer, we should experiment”) it’s scary and when I got my hare wrong it looked like tracked motion 😹. Hopefully it’ll be better once I’ve added shading.
Here’s the classes wild leaf and flower paintings from last week in the style of Sue Lewington,( not Levington, sorry).
Bella’s been helping me with emotional support chicken no.3. She sends you all purrs.

I wish she could talk our apricots into ripening. For once we have an excellent crop. They’ve coloured but are still hard.
Could they ripen in the car? (Next week’s blog will be dependent on hotel WiFi ). No, I’ve just checked and bl@@dy Brexit means we can’t take them to France. Brian’s ready to stuff our unripe apricots down the throat of the person I’ve called niff Sewage.
For so many years we’ve had a poor or no crop, and now look at them! Hopefully our neighbours and Aunty Liz who’s feeding Bella, will get the benefit of them.
And finally,

I’ll be visiting tomorrow
Hugs

Oh how annoying about the apricots! What a pain. Will they ripen and rot before you get back? I'd press a local friend into service. Maybe they could colled, halve, de-pit and freeze at least a few? Wonder if Kyla is nearby LOL!? Enjoy your trip , and love the watercolours. Bella can see Poppy on the move today, if only for a second or two... Happy Knitting Day WOYWW

That’s so frustrating re the apricots because that is one hell of a crop, I’ve never seen them like that in the UK before. Must have been the amazing Spring we had. Sigh, do your neighbours have a dehydrator so at least you could have some on your return? The chicken is looking great, I can’t wait to see what you name this one as the first two were fun!
Have a wonderful time away with your French family xx

Adore last week's nature studies and your drawings are fine. I trace with pen direct into my Bible before watercolour skipping the pencil stage. Think I did more damage trying to rub out the pencil afterwards. I embrace the extra lines and yours is looks great. Oh my to all the Apricots, have a great time away. I tried my link but didn't get the same issue, there must have been an internet blip. Hugs BJ#5

I don’t know how long you plan to be away, but I had a quick Google: Room temperature: Underripe apricots can ripen on the counter or in a paper bag. Fold the bag and keep at room temperature for up to three weeks.
Love your watercolours, I can’t see the hare you have drawn. I saw a bit about Jane Davenport where she uses colouring pencils right from the start. That takes confidence in your ability I think. Happy WOYWW and enjoy your trip. Angela #12
