Wasn’t it good to chat together on Saturday? It was lovely to see those of you who could make it. Here are a few:
I’m trying to add a bit of an Art Deco top border.
but I ran out of the copper.
It’s Sod’s law that the more expensive yarn is, the more likely it is that it arrives in hanks rather than balls. This is where I need Brian to stand with his arms out for me to wind it into a ball.
When he nearly lost part of it he said I looked like this - it’s very difficult to untangle. Still we ended up with a nice ball.
I’ve had some back problems and am using a V pillow to support my crochet, so I’m not bending over it. I have to be careful as I’ve osteoporosis. Thea thinks it’s there for her to stretch out on, of course!
And finally, I swear there is a special black hole that eats crochet hooks in my house...

Shoshi, if you read this I’m blocked from commenting or contacting you. Could you email me on Lmcollis@ivloud.com please? Thanks, Lynne
Hi there! So good to see you on Saturday, we should do FaceTime whilst crafting, perhaps we could have a go tomorrow morning maybe? Not too early though, lol!! The yarn for the shawl is gorgeous, I do love the three colours together, so beautiful. The Scream did make me laugh though! I think using a v pillow is a great idea, lifts everything up so you’re not putting tension on your back.
And you’re not on your own losing crochet hooks.....it’s reading glasses for me and no, they’re not on my head :-D
Hugs LLJ 10 xxx
PS I can comment on Shoshi’s blog so I’ll point her in the direction of your comment or, if you don’t mind, will copy your email and paste it.
Bleubeard and Elizabeth are blocked also.
I enjoyed seeing you, too, Lynne, even though you couldn't see me. Thea is beautiful and Bleubeard thinks so, too.
I love your lovely shawl. It is going to be gorgeous when it's finished. Sorry to read about your back. Can't help with lost crochet hooks, but if you find an extra pair of scissors, they could be mine. Happy WOYWW from #2.
Lovely shawl, Lynne! I am looking forward to seeing the completed project!

Hi Lynne, you are unblocked now - at least for the present. I'm really sorry about this. My blog spam checker is a major pain. I've emailed you anyway, and you will get your needle book in the next few days. I'm grateful to Jan for stepping and helping.
I love your shawl with its beautiful colours! My hubby has acted as a skein winder on occasion too but I do have a beautiful wooden one that goes up like an umbrella, that my Dad made for me. It clamps to the table. It's funny that expensive yarns tend to come in hanks rather than balls. Thea looks so comfy all cuddled up! The V-pillow sounds a good idea, but of course, any good ideas for our own comfort immediately get taken over by kitties because they know it's really for THEIR comfort and not ours lol!!
Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you liked my name badge. It didn't stay in place for long. I had taped a safety pin on the back but the tape wasn't sticky enough and the wretched thing fell off almost immediately! Thank you for your commiserations about my still-not-happening operation. I don't have any personal names to contact but a stiff letter has gone off to the Devon Referrals office with a copy for my regular surgeon so he's in the picture as to what's been going on. The trouble is, nobody these days is prepared to take responsibility for anything and bucks get passed and nobody is accountable.
Happy WOYWW,

Jan, thank you so much for your help! Lynne and I are now properly in touch and she'll be getting her needle book soon.

Your shawl will be so pretty with that lovely copper added! Great to see you on Saturday. Helen #3
Lynne, you are too funny!! I love your kitty antics!! You might want to check Thea's happy places...you may find some crochet hooks!! Our cat stole EVERYTHING!! Can I say oh my goodness with those yarn colors! They are simply GORGEOUS!!! I can't wait to see the finished shaw! I have yarn envy now!! I agree with you though about the more expensive ones only coming in hanks instead of balls! They are quite crafty aren't they!! I'm sure "technically" you are supposed to put them in balls after you purchase, but guess who doesn't? I'm sure the knitting gods are looking down at me very frustrated! LOL Your phone case is hysterical! I'd have that look as well...that's too much work to have it all unravel!!!! Great fun on Saturday and hope to do it again soon! And by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on Shoshi's needle book!!! I really thought I had put enough mojo on the whole thing to win, but alas I did not! LOL Enjoy! Blessings for the rest of your week! Hi Lynne, I can recall sitting with a hank of yarn over my hands for my Mom to roll the wool into balls when I was a child! She was an avid knitter back then, no-one ever had a bought jumper or cardi! Lovely to see you on Saturday, nice to put faces to names. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X
Hi Lynne, you're so right it was brilliant on Saturday and can't wait to do it again. I thought I'd never get to the posts today, three deliveries of craft stuff, one delivery of a surprise raffle prize, walking dogs, sorting mum's vaccination, trying to finish some cards and that's without the usual stuff like cooking Lol! The shawl looks lovely and look forward to seeing what you add to it. Wishing you a lovely creative week, Angela x19x

It was lovely to 'meet' you on Saturday. Love the yarn and Thea looks adorable. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe, with love & God bless, Caro xxx (#33)
What a beautiful shawl - the combination of colours are gorgeous and make a quite stunning colour mix. You are certainly brave letting little claws anywhere near where you crochet!!
Hope you have a good week,
Diana xx #20
Hi Diana, I’m not brave; they get hissed at from the beginning if they play with yarn. Thea did forget herself while we were winding the copper but that’s the first time and a firm hiss persuaded her it was a bad idea. I don’t think I’m successful in other attempts at cat training but on wool we’re clear! Take care, Hugs, Lynne
