WOYWW 633 Cats

Hi, a little crafting work in progress this week.
There’s a Facebook group (Hug a blanket) that makes blankets in squares for kids with life limiting illnesses.
I thought I’d try a cat or two….
Thank you all for your good wishes last week. I’m out of hospital and trying to recover from a partially collapsed lung.
Our local hospital is due to reply by Wednesday night to my complaint about being kept next to covid positive patients. If not it will be made formal, with copies to the CQC, the CEO and the press.
Of course I’m staying at home now. On steroids I have no immunity and those stupid di**heads in power are making an even worse mess of it than ever.

Someone had a sense of humour on the ward. They gave me my drink in this cup. I liked it so much I asked to bring it home.

People have been asking how I’m managing with my breathing in the heat. I’ve just realised why the room is cooler than usual.
Builders were supposed to be coming to redo the rendering on the front of the house, which faces south. They’ve put up the scaffolding and then haven’t yet come back so it’s a bit like a verandah.

I must get B to look up the recipe for mint julep๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐ŸธAll I can say is “Peel me a grape, Beulah”.๐Ÿ˜Ž
I hope they don’t come banging when the cats have just arrived.
We’re due to pick up Bella and Gracie at the end of this week. Till then….

And finally…
Stay safe and happy crafting
Hugs

  3. I’m glad you’re home and slowly improving - that’s a bonus from the scaffolding eh? I’d peel you a grape but it might get squished in the post!! I love the crochet square with the Cat on the Mat, very clever! I belong to a group called The Gift of Warmth on FB and the squares I’m doing are for them. The funnies made me laugh a lot, especially the chicken! When I played at various country fairs with the band, the bonkers chicken tent was always my favourite thing to visit, love the feathery feet!

  4. Glad you're home safe, at least you can get around and 'potter'. Hope your builders stay away a bit longer, free shade and they couldn't work in this heat surely.
    Love the pussycat square . . .
Have a good week and stay safe

  5. Glad you are back home and glad you are going to pursue things if it isn't handled to your satisfaction. So many times people just let these things drop. Love the mug!
I think the reason the guy said "lukewarm" was that it brings your core heat down slowly. He was the expert - one of the guests said to take a bag of cold rice to bed - I assume they meant cooked rice that you put in the fridge/freezer to begin with. The other said she lays wet J cloths over her midriff, head etc. They also recommended having two sets of bed covers (for a couple) so that you didn't get the body heat from one to another. So you now have my tips for when the scaffolding goes down another time.
Just keep crocheting those cats and stay well and away from that hospital.

  7. Pleased you're back home. They must have been desperate to put you next to the Covid patient. The government keep trying to tell us that the hospitals are okay but it's not true in all areas of the country which shows how little they know or care. Keep cool and wishing you a very restful woyww, Angela x13x

  10. I'm so glad you are home safe and sound, Lynne, and with your sense of humour well polished and in good order too! Love all the funnies this week, as always. The little cat crochet is just adorable! I could have incorporated that one into the Kitty Throw! The scaffolding people were an absolute pain when we were having all the work done on our house when we moved. They left it there for ages and wouldn't come and collect it, and it was getting in the way of the builders who were trying to break through to create the door from the flat to the outside. In the end we all came up with different ideas for persuading them to come and get it - my hubby said he would grow vines all over it, and I said I'd threaten them with selling it on Ebay if they didn't come and get it by Friday!! I think they use customers' houses as their storage depots in order to avoid paying rent on warehouses.

I bet you can't wait to collect your new kitties! I await their arrival with great anticipation and expect LOTS of photos to share with Lily and Ruby who will be happy to have 2 new online penpals.

Take care of yourself and I hope we hear reports soon of your full recovery back to strength.

    Hugs and happy belated WOYWW,
