I’m back for our weekly blog, care of Sarah’s Craft shed. Here’s my desk:
My seascape will be finished in my Wednesday art class. We’ll be using soft pastels to make sea foam, which will hopefully cover the join down the middle. I’ve no problem with painting with unusual shapes but I’d have preferred to take chunks out of the edges rather than tearing the whole sheet up. Ah well, in the name of art! The middle right section was done by creating a wet base, laying and stretching clingfilm across it then introducing more paint and tilting it to run down the clingfilm creases. Here’s our wall of glass-distorted postcards from last week.
Bella has helped me finish the back of B’s slipover and I’m doing the front.
Bella sends purrs to you all. I love her little smile when she’s having her chin chucked.
And finally…
II’ll be back this afternoon (Wednesday) as we’re going for lunch after art class.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Loving the artwork so far Lynne - I know what you mean about tearing it up though - not sure what it is supposed to add. Great knitwork. Meow to Bella. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Have fun out at your lunch, enjoy! The torn and collared waves artwork is brilliant, I like it very much - your tutor is really getting you to explore some interesting techniques for sure. The colours of B’s slip over are fantastic, doesn’t variegated yarn look better knitted rather than crocheted?

PS Loved the little cardis you knitted too, the buttons are perfect. That pattern is so very useful and no sewing up, woohoo!!

That seascape is stunning. Interesting part of the process was ripping it! The postcards are all amazing. What a fun class this seems to be. The slip-over is soon finished - will he wear it on Xmas or find it wrapped up as a gift? Pretty Bella looks happy - Poppy does like a good chin rub, but sadly mostly at 3AM! The cardis are super sweet and will be enjoyed I'm sure. Enjoy your lunch out - I was supposed to but one of my knitters is in the hospital. Worried, but WOYWW visits are keeping me distracted.
On time for WOYWW!

I'm loving your art class work - the seascape is amazing. What a fun class and your tutor sounds very innovative. The baby cardigans are beautiful - what a gorgeous effect with the yarn and in such lovely colours too.
Hope you have a good week and enjoy your lunch today.

That's a very interesting Seascape and look forward to seeing it develop. The distorted glass paintings are coming along well too. Good job you have Bella to help with the knitting too. Have a good woyww at the class. Hugs Angela x11x

Love the distorted glasses display.
Similarly love the baby cardigans. What beautiful colours and hasn't the wool worked out beautifully.
Glad you liked my fine crochet, wonder if I could manage if I used fine cotton?
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
I am not entirely sure I understand the process but I am loving the result. Did it get accidentally torn when you were tearing the edges? Happy WOYWW. Angela #12
Oh I love the fab colours of your baby cardis. It's a fab pattern isn't it. The artwork is amazing and I'm enjoying seeing it develop. Interesting techniques. x x Jo 🌈
O wow your seascape looks amazing! I just keep looking at this, perfectly captured so much depth and texture. Very interesting techniques too. Loving the postcards too!! I enjoy drawing but I'm not very good with proportion, so I tend to end up doodling more. I do like the colours of your slipover and the baby cardigans are beautiful, a lovely hue of colour. Sorry for the late reply. I managed to get all my cards done and posted but now I'm on catch up with everything else.Have a great weekend Michelle x #14
