Last week we were starting to add pastel to our seascapes.
Ain’t that the truth!
I think I’m done! We’re doing a quick study of a bit of Xmas tree and a clothes peg tomorrow.
We’re taking treats to class so I made some Pignoli, Sicilian almond, lemon and pine nut cookies.
I have 10 put away for class or we’d eat them! They have a soft almond paste centre, and are a mix of almond paste, pine kernels, sugar, bit of flour, egg white and lemon zest. It’s Nigel Slaters recipe (updated) but I used almond paste rather than marzipan (less sugar I think: Odense sell it on Amazon.) It’s the first time I’ve made them, and I think I’d make them smaller next time, but I’m still pleased.
B’s slipover is nearly finished. Bella’s supervising as ever. 😻😹 She sends purrs to you all.
And finally…
Ain’t that the truth!

LOL! I think you are done too - it looks marvelous. As does the crochet. Those colours are just so wonderful together. The cookies look fab too and I think I have that recipe. I do have a handful of Nigel's books. Have a happy holiday - now where IS my axe...? :D
On time!

Your wave collage/painting is really fab, such a great technique to learn! I like the sound of those pignoli as well, yum, you can’t go wrong with lemon and almonds. The funnies made me laugh but especially the axe one, that’s so me, never been elegant, always a tomboy, lol!!

Will Brian have a new woolly to wear for Christmas? Exciting and lovely colours.
The bakes sound interesting and as a marzipan lover I might just have to look these up. Trouble is I have eaten what was left after the cake was done and I had to share my marzipan log (was certain he didn't like marzipan, how come he suddenly does?).
If I don't see you next week - Happy Christmas to the three of you.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
