WOYWW 658 Chocolate, cats and soundtracks

Hi, back again for our weekly blog hop, courtesy of Miss Julia
Sorry I didn’t get round many blogs last week. I’m on heavy duty codeine for my back. Thanks for your good wishes for my MRI scan. It was very noisy, like a pneumatic drill by my head, but there was a bit of fun to be had guessing how bad the sound track was going to be on the headphones.
They must’ve thought I was really old, as they were all tracks from the ‘60s, like Glen Campbell, Lulu and Petula Clark. I was so glad it finished when ‘the Young Ones’ started playing. I was barely born when Cliff Richards was singing that!
The MRI gave really clear images. It’s funny looking at your own spine. The consultant showed me last night and he confirmed there are no fractures, yay! It’s just a badly pulled muscle, so back to the physio.
I’ve not done a lot of crafting. The slipover is back to its previous height. Here’s Gracie modelling it for me!

I made some more chocolates today. This time it was pistachio and chopped dried apricot. My husband loves the fruit, so I’m using it to try and come up with his ideal chocolate. I tried to make some salted caramel to drop into it, but that was less successful. I ..er.. also forgot to grease the mould but they didn’t come out too bad.

I think he likes them…,(4th helping 😀)

Bella has been more dynamic this week. This is her on top of her cat tree.
One of them bought a dead mouse in this week (ugh). It’s the first time. Cats will be cats. 😸
Gracie has been braver lately and is happy to come downstairs for a cuddle. It was also her who’d come in wet just before we found the mouse…

And finally ….

I was always fond of MP and the holy grail!

Take care all, and happy crafting!
Hugs

  3. Morning Lynne. Glad there are no fractures. I'm sure the physiotherapy will help. Phew - at least it was a dead mouse, not a live one!! Wow - making your own chocolates... well done - hope you find just the right flavour for you both.
    Take care. God bless.

  4. I’m so relieved that all is ok after the MRI, phew, hope the physio will help it recover properly. The slipover is looking great, I really do love the colours. Great pics of the cats, they’re getting braver each day! So good to catch up yesterday xx

  5. Good news about your back but sorry to hear you are still suffering. Ah well so you forgot to grease the tin - it's all about the flavour isn't it? Seriously, making your own chocolates!! Clever girl. Love the funny - the computer one reminds me of a course I went on where he said that - well not the bit about pooping, but certainly holding that much processing power in your hand. Have a great week, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy xx #17

  6. So glad your MRI results show no break, that must be a huge relief. The chocolates look yummy and lots of scope for plenty of new experiments! Love the kitty pics although not so keen on the mouse - my friends cat used to bring in live bats - lots of fun and games trying to get them out of the house without harming them! Loved the funnies - I'm a great MP fan too and love the Passport one.
Hope you have a great week,
    Diana xx #15

  7. I have been trying to work out how much younger you are than me! I was 6 when the “Young Ones” was released, I must admit I like the named artists. I am not sure which era I would have chosen if it had been me, but if they had thought you were really old, they would have played Vera Lyn 🤣🤣. Happy WOYWW and post me a taster of your chocolates please! Angela #4

  8. Gosh that is a relief result from the MRI, despite your discomfort, I hope it helps to know! Before I forget, I know Cindy makes cards to sell, both on commission and from stock. It’s a thing to know actually, I will do a blog post about it I think, it will be interesting to know who makes and sells…we might even stumble upon makers of other stuff too! Not a great fan of apricots but I think I could suffer them swathed in chocolate, great idea to get it into one’s diet. Love the passport funny in particular, oh la la wouldn’t It be hilarious if someone dared, even if it was just a proof copy to the PM!!

  9. What a relief the MRI result is, I know you’re in pain but am pretty sure you’re buoyed by the news that nothing is broken. Hope so! I’m on board with eating fruit in chocolate, B has the right idea…I like pineapple with dark chocolate particularly. Made me smile about forgetting to tease the pan…we had a tray of stuck fast mince pies that I reduced to a sort of mince and pastry Eton mess! a add cream, tasted fine! Cindy sells her cards, it’s interesting to find out actually, I shall blog separately about it, we might learn of a few that sell all sorts of things. Way back, whEn it was a huge thing, WOYWW was ‘used’ by a lot of sellers for promotion purposes, it was even recommended for Stampin Up! Demonstrators to join in for exposure. It was v obvious though and it remains one of my rules, no blatant selling, so it’ll be nice to offer a one off chance to hear from sellers!

  10. SO happy for you that your back is not broken, even though I'm sure it feels like it is :-( I'm not surprised you haven't made it to a desk this week. The cats are beautiful, Bella is the Queen! The mouse, as you know, is a loving gift for you. Otherwise Gracie would have just eaten it up and left you the head! Have a great week, stay safe, Lindart #21

  12. Hi Lynne, what a relief nothing is broken. Although it's still going to be painful until the physio has sorted it. I remember making truffles for my daughter's wedding in 2020 - the samples were very popular at work. I must make some again soon. Not tried apricot, but I did do some salted caramel I think. I'm limited at crafting at the moment, due to a poorly shoulder, but hopefully can get a bit done. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #20

  13. Hello Lynne. Good news there is no break. I do love your kitties. I used to really shudder when the one we had, a long time ago now brought in mice and birds.
Chocolates are not something I have not tried making - yet :-) Take care. Anne x 1

  14. Glad you only have a pulled muscle and hoping physio will fix it. Beautiful kitties. We used to get all kinds of "gifts", both dead, alive, or partially ate. Have a great week!
