My desk this week shows my new project, autumn vegetables.
So far, I’ve been doing the charcoal drawing of my red onion, brown onion and bulb of purple garlic. I’ve printed a mono photo to help with the different values. We’re adding watercolours this week.
Here are 2 collages of our class’s fungi from last week. You can see the quality of their paintings, so you’ll understand if I judge myself harshly. We very much enjoyed the Tallis Singers’ concert on Saturday, and the setting in Canterbury cathedral was superb. They sang acapella Renaissance sacred music by Tallis, Gibbons et al, from the 16th and 17th centuries.
I also loved C4’s the Game of Wool on Sunday, though I thought a different contestant should have gone out. Next week they’re making dog coats so I asked Bella if she’d like a coat and hat but she wasn’t impressed. She prefers to wear just her own coat, thank you, even when supervising my crochet! She sends you all purrs.
This is what she looks like when I wake her so I can go to bed. Super cuteness to try to persuade me not to disturb her. 😻
I’ve made 9 of 12 strips of my blanket.
And finally,
I can understand how this elephant felt as I’ve been to the physio, who uses acupuncture as well as massage on my back.
I’ll be round to visit after art class,
Hugs

Firstly I think you can hold your head high with your fungus painting! Secondly, is that really a ginormous head of garlic or does foreshortening make it seem that way?! Printing it out in mono is a great idea, as you say, it helps with the tones. Apparently people do that with photos of their quilt squares before they put them together. Loved all your funnies today, they made me laugh!

Sounds like you have a very knowledgeable teacher at your class and I am loving the results. The concert sounds good too. I have not seen the Game of Wool and will try and catch up with it not that my two would appreciate another coat and hat's just get removed very quickly. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Crikey! I didn't know The Game of Wool had started already. Must make that my watch on catch-up tonight. I've been looking forward to it, but the lat 24 hours were all about the US elections - I have ties to VA and NJ. It rather consumed me :). Move you watercolours and yours are every bit on par with the class, and better than some. Be proud! Bella is looking cuddly and warm too. Give her a scritch from Poppy!
Happy WOYWW to all

I love your artwork and think you are up there with the best. Your blanket is coming along well. I swear by acupuncture so hope you are feeling the benefits.

Really great funnies today - especially the mammoth acupuncture🤣. I am in awe of those wonderful paintings of fungi - what a talented bunch you are! x x Jo 🌈
Never judge yourself by others, you are a writer, a skilled crochet worker, an artist, other skills too and an all around lovely person. Just love what you do and keep on learning. Hugs Angela #10
