WOYWW 624 Happy silk anniversary!

I looked up 12th anniversaries and one option is for it to be the silk anniversary. Very nice! I’ve used silk as one of my themes for the ATCs.
I was thinking this week about what WOYWW means to me, so here’s a little poem I’ll be putting into envelopes along with a postcard and my ATC. Let me know if you’d like to swap ATCs, unless we’ve already exchanged addresses.
It’s called The WOYWW Wheel. If you have comments or examples you’d like me to add, put them in the comments below. I’m not putting in names, just examples, though love and loss clearly includes Shaz, and you may recognise others.

Here’s my desk with ATCs in progress.

I’ve received a couple of ATCs already, from Jan:

and from Caro, with some pretty stickers(not sure of the correct term):

Many thanks, both of you xx. Yours are on their way.

Apart from ATCs, I’ve not done a lot of crafting this week.

Crochet
I have an idea for a lightweight cardigan, based on the 4 ply wool I didn’t use for those tortuous figure of eight gloves. It’s based on big granny squares, alternating with plainer, textured squares. I’ll see if it works.
Once I started to do a textured square in linen stitch, I’ve really fallen for the woven texture of it, but it’s a dense stitch and slow to crochet. That might change the way I go.

Adventures in writing
My story about the traveller boy, Jojo, falling for Ellyn’s new assistant at the flea market was well received. I was pleased our tutor said I have an ear for teenage dialogue. Goodness knows from where! (I don’t have children but I do have 6 wonderful godchildren). I’ve now to write about a rival, as evil as possible! Channelling Iago (cue evil laugh!)

Cat story
Thea has had a very sleepy week. She’s very sensible and doesn’t go out much in the rain.
Here she’s trying to “Purrsuade” me not to get up.

And finally...,

Have a great celebration of WOYWW 12, all, take care and keep crafting!
Hugs

  1. Happy Aniversary! Thea does look cosy and Jinx sends his purrs and meows. He'd feeling a lot better after his visits to the vets last week. Most of my ATC are different. I was going to do all the same but got side tracked!
Stay safe. Keep Crafting! Happy WoYWW?!

  4. Hi Lynn
    Happy WOYWW anniversary
Your silky ATCs look fabulous and I do like that poem, such fun.
I hope you are more successful with your crochet jacket than I have been. I have a really lovely pattern for a crochet jacket, sort of based on squares, but I can't understand the instructions, even after lots of advice.
Love your funnies, as far as chocolate, I think I probably died before William the conqueror!
    Bless you for sharing

  5. What a fabulous poem. I love how you incorporated so many. Although I don't normally partake anymore, I recognized so many who you referenced. And your ATCs are to die for. My two cats never go outside. I can see why yours wouldn't want to go out in the rain. Happy 12th Anniversary from # 10.

  6. Well, what can one say about that poem. Your poems are as good as your novel writing is. That is fabulous and your ATC's look fab too. You obviously are a very talented lady as you turn your hand to so many different things.
The crochet is lovely - the colours are just wonderful, it's lovely to see Thea and I love the funnies.
Hugs, Neet 1 (maybe Adam & Eve for me)

  7. You have always had such a way with words and it’s evident in that beautiful poem, I really loved it xx So pleased that your creative writing is really taking off, I love the ideas you share!
Happy 12th WOYWW, I’m so glad that you joined the desky madness, I really adore that fact that it shapes my week now. Clever you thinking of the Silk, the ATCs look gorgeous - I’m glad you liked the one I sent you.
The And Finally about the ‘Mammogram’ made me hoot, if that were the case the test would have been phased out for something a lot less paint full years ago, lol!!
    Happy 12th WOYWW

  9. Your poem is beautiful, I recognised so much in it. You have such a talent with words and I'm very impressed you have mastered teenage dialogue - something I struggle with having 16 and 18 year old nephews, as they seem to have very little of it!
Had a real laugh at the mammogram funny!
I'd be very happy to swap an ATC with you if you still have one, I'll send you my details.
    Happy 12th Anniversary,
    Diana xx #18

  11. Happy 12th Anniversary WOYWW. Your wonderful poem made my eyes leak a bit! Your last cartoon made me chuckle, especially as I was 50 this year and now dreading my first mammogram. Being a woman doesn't get easier. Gorgeous colours in your latest crochet project. Ali x #34

  14. Wonderful poem! A rather alarming statistic with the chocolate and I won't be working out when I should have toddled off! I'd love to swap with you if you have any left. I haven't made mine as you know so I can make as many as I need! Happy anniversary! Lisa-Jane, #2

  19. Happy anniversary, and thanks again for my envelope full of lovely. Seriously love the poem, it’s such a great reflection of this collective! Brilliant idea to look up 12; silk is a nice one, huh! I really like the linen stitch you’re working, it looks great. But it would have to be a nice border thing for me, I still need the fast growth satisfaction. That hook looks pretty ergonomic too, bet you can do speed crochet with that!

  23. Love your latest adventures in crochet, Lynne. We are on a crochet binge, you and me both, it seems! Thea is behaving just like our two. Not keen to go out in the wind and rain, and more than content to cuddle up wherever it's most comfortable - and here, it seems that the new kitty throw is favoured!! Thanks for visiting - yes, the kitties have laid claim, and my hubby absolutely loves it and is thrilled with it! He says all the kitties have different personalities. Glad you like my other projects too. Thank you for your good wishes for my appointment on Monday.

Love the poem and the funnies - lol lol!! As for the second one, I shall be going through that on Monday haha! Perhaps I'll print out the cartoon and show it to them at the hospital!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

What a brilliant poem - and yes I did recognise many of the references! Lovely crochet work - I'm in awe of people who can do that! Enjoy your weekend! xx zsuzsa #17
