WOYWW 643 Seaside squares

Hello again! It’s Wednesday so here we are again, blog hopping via Julia’s  Stamping Ground
I’ve had two ‘desks’ this week:
- My crochet squares where I’ve been riffing on Polly Plum’s Summertime square…

Joining as I go…

- And my jewellery making ‘desk’ where I’ve been adapting these earrings to hang from my sleepers. I call them my Writer’s earrings and wear them for my Monday zoom session on creative writing. They don’t see them but I know they’re there. 😏

As we were having our flu jabs on Saturday, we went for a long walk down Folkestone Warren on Friday. It was a glorious day.

Very sore arm from Saturday, but better now.
The cats made good use of the garden till the weather turned yesterday.
Here’s Gracie sunning herself in the vegetable bed.

Bella likes the shrubbery down the garden.

And finally…

We were lucky to get diesel on Friday morning. I feel sorry and angry for the doctors, key workers, carers and ordinary people and companies that can’t get fuel. This government is so useless. These seem to sum it up.

Take care all and keep on crafting!

  1. The blackboard funny made me hoot, I suspect my mind is like that most of the time as well! Great crochet squares, I like the one that looks like Celtic knot work. The walk looked great, what glorious weather - it’s lovely here today after 36 hours of biblical rain, the first we’ve had here for some time!

  4. I'm with you, this government are useless but the blackboard made me smile thank goodness! We were lucky and got fuel for the car on friday before it kicked off so were able to take mum her food shopping. We may not be considered Key workers but my mother wouldn't agree if she doesn't get her food order. It's a difficult one but lets hope it gets sorted soon. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x14x

  5. Very topical funnies - love them!
Nice crochet on display for us to admire but those ear rings - they are fantastic!! Did you make the shavings from a pencil or buy them? I just love those.
Must ring up about our flu jabs - of course September is the month and I forgot.
Love the pictures of your new babies - so cute.

  10. Best way is to join as you go, nothing worse than having loads of squares at the end and having to sew them all together. Fortunately we have no shortage here in Spain, plenty of fuel and HGV drivers. Ani

  12. Your squares cardie is going to be a thing of wonder, Lynne, and I expect you will have a lot of explaining to do when you say "This one's sex, drugs and rock and roll" lol! Lovely to see the kitties enjoying the autumn sunshine. Ours have been out in the rain a bit lately but they don't seem to mind. Fabulous funnies - you are right, just about sums up the situation. It's not just our govt but worldwide... The last one made me laugh out loud! As for the blackboard one, that really sums up how my brain has been this afternoon...

Thank you for your visit. I think my skin is getting better now - much less itchy and sore, although it's still a bit red. Thanks for your input re the salad - it seems there are varying opinions about this! Whatever, it was delicious, even without the croutons. I'm doing my organising in fits and starts, in between other things I need or want to do. It's going to take a while to complete.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
