WOYWW 683: Growing Tizzy and a Summer hat

Hi all,
Back for another Wednesday bloghop care of Julia at The Stamping Ground
My Tizzy square is growing and I’ll soon have to work out how big to make the smaller squares for the front.
I’ve been watching the tennis (hasn’t it been good?) 😀I quite like the hats they wear in Wimbly’s royal box. I don’t fancy paying the best part of £100 for one though, so I bought a £10 Panama off EBay and I’m going to tack on some suffragette ribbon.

It was our wedding anniversary on Monday (39 years!) We had a lovely meal out at a pub nearby, the Black Horse, run by a friendly Italian family.

For our silver wedding, we bought two apricot trees. They don’t always fruit, but we’re doing quite well this year.

Bella and Gracie have been enjoying the sunshine

And finally…

Take care and enjoy your crafting!
Hugs

  2. I love the way the Tizzy is coming along - I think that’s the first time I’ve seen variegated yarn work really well in crochet! It’s going to make a fab cardigan. So glad you had a good meal out, the pub looked fantastic as do those apricots, yum. The spider funny made me laugh out loud as I share the same problem as Ralph, I try to do random and it just morphs into something regular…I just can’t help myself.

  3. Love the hat! I recently snagged one from Primark so I can shade the back of my neck. It's a lovely soft almost minty green but warmer than that and was all of £3. Normally I hat "fast fashion" but one the day, needs/must. Your grid-web spider made me hoot, but the wine-drinking cats were more belly laugh.
Happy WOYWW on the day for a change :D !

  5. Fab hat. I'm not a hat wearer really but I do have one I wear when we go to watch the cricket so it was put to good use at the weekend at Egbastion...great match there too. Happy Anniversary to you both.

  7. Ah, now that’s an inspired way to own a Panama, they really are great sun hats, but as you say, always so costly! Love the suffragette ribbon, always makes me smile that Wimbledons colours are the same. Congrats again on your anniversary, the pub looks lovely, we’re coming up to 38 years now…it would be nice to actually get out for the next one!
