WOYWW 613 Mask central

Hi again, here’s our weekly blog hop courtesy of Julia at The stamping-ground
I’ve been making mask adapters again this week. It’s nice using all these new buttons, like Smarties!

I’ve found a solution to losing my needle - magnets glued into the lid of my button box. It works as long as I remember to put it back!

Thea says mrrp to all your cats. She’s been sleeping most of the day and then tears round doing a Brands Hatch chasing her tail on the bed at bedtime 😏
We’ve been able to get out for walks this week. It always makes me smile to see our village alpacas.

On a fine day, the coast is a good walk. Below is a Martello tower, part of the coastal defences against Napoleon et al.

I look forward to seeing your blogs, and to comment as much as I can - does anyone else get chucked out by blogger when you try to comment? Sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 goes, and that’s with blogger not Wordpress.

And finally......

Stay safe and keep crafting!
Hugs
Lynne

  1. Oh, I nearly spat my coffee on Korean Kim!!! Laugh! Great job with all the adapters Lynne, I expect there are a lot of grateful ears out there. I mentioned these to my Mother in Law who, bless her, wrestles with losing her hearing aids every time she puts on or takes off a mask. She’s not sure yet, because she doesn’t want her hair to go flat. I didn’t tell her that we’ve all got lockdown flat hair. But I’ve planted the seed and I suspect that she’ll suggest it as an idea to me in the coming week or so!!! She gave me two jigsaws to pass on last week, staying she wasn’t going to do anymore because she’s fed up with them. Yesterday she sued me if I was holding them back to do before she gets them. Moments that I’ve learned to cherish in the absence of my own Mothers ability to heckle me!

  3. LOL! Love Kim and the cat! I keep meaning to try and sew one of the adaptors for myself. I don't have cause to wear a mask often as I don't really go anywhere but I have to do care visits to my Dad which sometimes involve hospital trips etc where I'm wearing a mask for a longer time. I had my ears pinned back so I have deep scarring JUST where the elastic sits! Isn't there something wonderful about rifling through a box or jar of buttons!! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #7

  4. Yep, that’s exactly how the world would end! That made me laugh this morning, thank you, it’s dreary and raining today after four days of Spring loveliness. That is such a simple but neat idea to stop losing your needles, very clever indeed and I’m glad your makes adapters are proving so useful as well! I had the same problem with blogger comments and remember that G solved the problem by changing something in Settings, let me check and I’ll get back to you. Whatever he did, it worked!

  6. Morning Lynne. have to admit - loved those "and finally"! Brilliant. Well done on the needle solution - great idea. Good move! I think you are doing a great job with those extenders - such a simple but lovely answer to the problem of having to wear an uncomfortable mask all day!!
    Take care. God bless.

  7. Me again! I went into Settings then into Safari, scrolled down to Prevent Cross site tracking and turned that off. That seemed to do the trick for me as not being able to comment was a major pain!

  11. Those magnets are great for finding our lost needles. I have something that resembles a car arial that extends, no idea where it can from but it does the job picking up things dropped on the floor. Our pup comes alive at night too, it's the animal instinct hee hee. Happy WoywW Tracey #14 x

  14. hahha love the jokes....I need that type of Editor! I've nicked a magnet on a retracking stick (looks like a pencil when closed)from Hubbys workshop, it's so useful! pickes up loads...even pencil shavings...the fine dust, gets picked up by it! Take care, stay safe. Keep on Crafting! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #16

  17. I've got to make my hubby a mask adapter, Lynne, because he lost one of his hearing aids the other day, pulling off the mask. He found it again on the garden path but it had been out of doors all night in the rain so isn't much use now! Love the pic of gorgeous Thea - her pretty little feet are just like Lily's - all spotty! Adorable. I love the idea of her doing Brands Hatch! Our two are not tail chasers. One of our old kitties, Chloe, was tail chaser in chief and she loved to do it round the back of a kitchen chair - I think this was my first ever YouTube video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwNUPLGtnqo Our kitties send purrs to Thea. (They don't do "mrps"!) Some lovely photos of your surroundings, and the alpacas - aren't they delightful creatures? Thank you for visiting - funny how like my hubby yours is - in temperament, it seems, as well as in looks haha! You are right about the hospital letter - no progress at all, but at least I have some sort of explanation, if extremely late in the day. They are hopeless. I hope the Magritte exhibition was a success and worth the effort and hassle! He's a fascinating artist. I never thought of cats all being of the Schroedinger variety - that's very good! Where Lily was hiding remains a complete mystery. Her grin is more Mona Lisa than Cheshire Cat really - enigmatic!

    Happy WOYWW,

  20. I do lpove a good button rummage - always bring back memories of my nan's button tin. Love the alpacas - I think they have quite smiley faces (or maybe just daft ones!). Been lpvely to get out with some blue skies hasn't it. That's probably why we smile when we see them. Have a good week, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindy xx#18
