WOYWW 705

Sorry to have been absent, we've had a lot to do with moles these past two weeks. Not this sort:

But having a new water pipe fitted, which involved moling machines under our drive, getting up at dawn to get done before the water goes off etc.The physical works are now done, but I've still to battle the water company about our bill, once we take the 2nd reading next week. I’ve had lots of headaches and haven’t felt like blogging and commenting.

In the meantime I've made a vineyard scarf for our goddaughter's partner and a pair of gloves to go with her vineyard shawl for herself (with a bracelet tucked into the glove).
See we
I hope they’re not too rough for the Parisian pair!
Bella and Gracie are much appreciating the warmth now we are using the log burner again.

We're not sending Christmas cards this year and are making a donation to the cat shelter they came from instead. I wrote a review of my favourite Italian food hall, Macknades, for the Guardian, and they’ve said I should go in and collect a free panettone as a reward! I’ll be going this morning so I’ll comment later. I’m well chuffed!

And finally
I’m not sure if I ve posted this one before but I love it!😻

Happy WOYWW and happy crafting

  1. Well well. A review! Exciting, but not as much as free panettone LOL! The scarf and mittens look lovely. Funnily enough Darling Daughter lost one of hers, knitted last year, so I am finishing up my visits then off to begin a pair while she is away at a skating event. Better knit fast! A log burner sounds warm and inviting, so be the cats are in heaven for sure. How the pipe saga ends in a satisfactory result for you. Fingers crossed!
Determined to carve out my desk hop time today!!
    Happy WOYWW!

  2. The scarf and mittens are gorgeous! I'm sure they will love them! When we had a woodstove many years ago, my Siamese would sleep UNDER it! I can't imagine how warm that would be, but she loved it! What a great idea to donate to the cat shelter in lieu of cards, I'm sure they appreciate it! Have a great week, now that the moleing is done, Lindart #16 PS-great toons! I like the craft room one - so true!

  3. Hope you manage to get the Water company soon. I love your Mole picture. We have lots of moles where we live as the soil ois very easy for them to dig. Nice gloves and scarf, I'm sure they will be much appreciated. Nice to see your kitties and the funnies are good, very smile worthy. Hope you have a lovely woyww. Hugs, Angela x11x

  6. I’m so pleased that the pipe saga is over and wish you well in dealing with the water company. The scarf and mittens are fab, I’m sure they’ll love them, what is that draped over the cat? Is it a pullover for Brian? The funnies made me hoot, especially the craft room, I’m sure we’re all guilty of that! We met up with my bro and sister in law, had a lovely lunch out. I bet that free panettone will taste extra special 😊

  9. Ha ha! The decoration under the tree is Mittsy! She spent all afternoon watching me decorate the rest of the tree! Inky is kind of oblivious...Lindart

  10. Fabulous funnies and so large this week, much easier to see and read. Thanks.
I was just about to tell you about our moles in the garden when I read on - glad it is sorted and I hope you get back to normal soon.
Love the Paris knitting, they should be well warm in those.
Sorry I got so glum yesterday but I was hurting so much.
Never thought of blocking her, maybe will tell her to her face on Saturday that I will if she doesn't cease. It's all jealousy at the end of the day.

  11. Oh I do hope the battle with the water company isn’t long and protracted, I’m very glad to hear the Mole works are behind you. Parisian or not, I’m perfectly sure your gifts will be welcome…and much used, they are lovely. Fab result from a review, hope you enjoy every slice of the panettone!

  12. All the will in the world to visit on Wednesday and bombed out yet again, so sorry....better late than never though - I say.

Love all the vineyard items, so very special. Hope the water supply and bill is sorted now, what a pickle.

  13. I feel your pain with the water company - we are having a battle with the gas company who misread our meters or plucked the figures from thin air, we are now over £400 in credit but they are still hassling us for more money and wont accept our accurate readings so we are at the point we are scared to put the heating on much as we don't know what the next bill will be or why they can't use our credit. Aargh.

Those gloves are gorgeous - I'm sure the recipient will love them.

Sorry for the late comment - week has run away with me.
