WOYWW 761 Happy New Year!

Hi all, I wish you all an amazing new year, full of good health, wellbeing and great creativity, as Neil Gaiman says:

Well, I struggled and struggled with that horrible sorry cowl pattern and eventually decided I just wasn’t enjoying it so I’ve learned a new stitch, and have started a different one an American pattern from:Crocheted simplicity

I’ll get round to undoing all these dotty cowl bits at some point.
There are more important things to do than struggle with such badly written patterns.

Gracie and Bella send you purrs but they’re virtually hibernating at the mo!
And finally…

Take care all and happy WOYWW
Hugs

  1. Great funnies - that's me with the yarn. I keep knitting my hearts and twiddlers but the stash isn't getting any less! 😀 Happy New Year! x x Jo

  2. I love that Neil Gaiman quote, he’s a wise old chap - the Dory funny might be a bit like me though!! There’s no point in carrying on with a project that’s annoying you, I think we’ve gone past that thing of finishing everything now. I never used to give up on books but do so if I’m not enjoying the story - there’s only so much time left and I don’t want to waste any! Hugs to you, B and the puss cats xx
    Happy 2024 and WOYWW!

  3. I don't blame you giving up with the pattern if you are not enjoying it Lynne. Meow to Gracie and Bella. A quick visit this week due to new windows being installed (and of course it has started raining). Stay safe and Happy WOWYW. Sarah #14

  4. Glad you decided to rethink the cowl pattern, what's the point if you aren't enjoying the process. Hugs BJ#12

  5. Lovely crochet pattern - thanks for the sharing the link, I'll have to check it out.

And I can relate to giving up on a pattern. I did the same earlier this season. Funny thing, though... I returned to it later and *got it* - and it was a joy. Ya never know!

Blessings of 2024 to you. 💕

  10. LOL at the Yarn funny. Too true. And also well done you for being brave enought and smart enough to say "I hate this pattern" and just moving on. We all should be so clever. Enjoy the new make!
    Happy 2024 WOYWW!

  12. A very happy new year to you too, Lynne. You've got some stuff to do...will this be the year of the second novel?! I've finished A Sense for Silver and congratulate you. I loved that Ellen has things in common with you, your knowledge of Paris sure is lovely. Meanwhile, I agree about the badly written pattern, absolutely no point when there are others that will work as beautifully.
